"Memories please take my hand
And follow where I go.
For far too soon you'll start to fade
And I will be alone."
Your poem is well written, good rhyming, and pleasant to read. So glad for the memories we have of good times.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I appreciate it more than you will know. Most of us have shrunk back during this trying time and I'm no different. I need to get motivated again and these feedbacks help.

You are very welcome.

This is a charming little poem about all those memories of way back when. These are the memories that manage to stay green even in the minds of those suffering from dementia. They say that the recent memories are the first to fade but the old ones remain engraved on our hearts - thank heavens.

Thank you for your input, and yes, I seem to remember long ago as opposed to what I had for breakfast! LOL

Wow! This piece was really awesome. As sad as it was it was so relatable and you did a great job with it. My favorite stanza was this one " "Memories it's time to leave"
but what will I have left?
An empty heart, a simple gaze
A soul that is bereft." It was like a kick in the gut, but then you manage to end on a positive note which was just so well crafted!

I thank you SO much Chris! Since we have all been so isolated, I have been neglecting my writing. This is so much encouragement.

What a delightful poem. I'm at the age where my memory is starting to go too, but surprisingly, as I write these different stories, the memories are stirred up again, perhaps not as accurately as they should be, but the nice thing about writing about them, you can edit them the way you want. I truly enjoyed your bio. You're really a very talented writer. Well done.

Thank you Tom! I've been lax about writing (the isolation maybe?) but I need the encouragement.
