Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and for the six stars. I am so glad you enjoyed my poem, and I hope my mom does too? I'm giving it to her for Mother's Day with some dandelions. :-) Hugs.

I just love this one! I recently finished a book of Billy Collins poetry, (The Trouble With Poetry) and enjoyed especially his poem called The Lanyard, based on his weaving a plastic lanyard for his mom at summer camp, and knowing that the lanyard would more than balance out all his mother did for him over the years. It's adorable; google it or borrow the book from the library, as your dandelions definitely strike the same chord. Congrats on this beauty, and you have my vote!

I have to give you a six because this is so lovely it evoked emotion in me that reminded me of my own mothers love of Sunflowers. She chose her white casket emblazoned with a massive Sunflower. I miss her dreadfully even after three years. Thank you for making her feel close by. Good luck in the contest.

This triolet, Dandelions for Mom, has the proper formatting and captures the love on both ends of a child's discovery of beautiful dandelions and the wish to bestow them on his or her cherished mom. Nice.

"Dandelions for Mom" is a nicely written piece which beautifully expresses the poet's affection for Mom with the "Golden Glow" it refers to radiating from the mother onto the children. It reminds me of all the questionable gifts I gave my mom that she seemed to appreciate.

Thank you for your comments. Isn't it funny how mom seemed to really love a squished earthworm or a rock, as long as she received it from you? :-) Hugs.

There's nothing more precious than a handful of wilted dandelions given to a mother from a three-year-old with blonde curly hair sticking out all over the place. They are more beautiful long-stemmed red roses to display on the shelf. Good luck with the contest.

I agree! I love when children give picked flowers to someone they love. Thank you for your comments. Hugs.

That's a wonderful story about your mom graciously enjoying those dandelion bouquets! I enjoyed your lovely triolet which doesn't seem too repetitive because of the poetic language describing the lowly dandelion flower as "a crown of gold." Best wishes in the contest!

i love dandelions as well-they are often one of the first flowers up in spring and I have loved every bouquet from my children, my students and my grandchildren. I love this presentation.

It's the simple things in life that can bring us the most joy And your mom obviously has such a humble and loving heart - that she appreciates any and all gestures of affection. Because of that, she will always be surrounded by her loving family - and vases of dandelions.

I have always been puzzled about those that agonize about dandelions in their yard, Using poison to rid their yards of these beauties. Not only are they Gods creation, they are good in salads.
