This is a lovely poem. It ranks right up there with childhood rhymes like "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and others. I love the rhythm. It can become a song.

In your inimitable clever style, Brooke you've given us the lyrics to put a tune to and add to the lexicon of drinking songs.
Funny, I know you had a lot of fun writing this.

A wonderful counting poem Brooke. I had much fun counting them down those poor dear worms. This poem meets your high standard of excellence as always. It is just plain fun. I have a two year old grandaughter. I plan on printing this and pasting it my fridge (with other treasures)and share it with my baby Lila. Thank you so much. Your diversity is amazing.

Still missing keys, old eyes hanging in here as good, as expected, I suppose.

This is a fun, engaging and happy poem. Well, it wasn't so happy for the nine worms that didn't make it, but somehow my spirit was buoyed by the time there was only one. I never thought of myself as someone with issues concerning worms, but how else can my reaction to the fate of the nine be explained? Anyway, Brooke, great job as always.

I'll bet Sawyer loves this poem, Brooke! What a lucky kid to have a grandmother who can right such amazing poems. Not only is it a fun read, it's also educational.
It's such great fun (and sad) to read about the fates of these poor little worms as they dwindle down to one. Great rhyming and alliteration. I particularly like the stanza about the four hard of hearing worms. Who woulda' thunk?
Thanks for sharing, my friend. Have a great night! Alana

Brooke;
"for worms were hard of hearing as they went out to romp--one never heard those footsteps until he felt them stomp." Humorous, delightfully funny, ingeniously creative,
and remarkably inventive I just some of the things that this poem offers to the reader.
A great children's poem that is written very well and very enjoyable to read. The rhyming in the rhythm is authentic and excellent and the rhyming is neither forced nor labored while it helps the rhythmic flow.
Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always.

This is great, Brooke. It reminds me of things that my mother read to me as a child and hooked me on reading.
Have a great night. Bruce.
