Very nice image. You've utilized this simple form very well. It does read like a simple yet very elegant still life painting. Very easy and pleasing to reflect on.

To tomprato,

What better way to express your Haiku poem than the succulent way you have portrayed them in your notes.
Combining the art, good taste and nutritional value you get from them decribes it perfectly.

This is alright but need to catch the of the reader. You said, "Longing for when you visualized this." To me this means you can give me and the reader more.

Excellent, I never thought I'd read a Haiku that has that as it's last line. Strong imagery and good form. Missing a complemntary picture though I think. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Thank you. Do we need pictures for a picturesque haiku like this?
reply by Aarondodd1989 on 27-Jun-2011
no... just a personal preference I guess. All my haiku's have pictures... your choice.

I'm impressed by your appreciation and knowledge of fine china. Though my knowledge of wine is limited at best, I believe your's come through in this well constructed haiku. I also appreciate your author notes on the wine. I know that Wedgwood is the finest and doubt that you would have matched the grapes that produce this wine with the china, if they were not deserving to be paired.I believe that nature is it's own craftsman, and has it's own sense of elegance. deb

Ah, a haiku in all its simplicity with a hint of alliteration to save the poem; green grapes; white wedgewood; and we can savor the sounds of translucent and Sauvignon vintage. The last line is almost a master stroke; the transformation of those natural elements into something larger and spirited; the wine or the promise of wine; Haiku at its best perhaps. Yet why am I not entirely satisfied?

Thanks. Dissatisfaction is a part of existence. If we were satisfied, we would never move forward.

How did you get all of the viewers? I wonder how people do that. I have a lot of viewers on a few things but I haven't spent a lot of money. I'm just wondering if people have more money to spend then I do. I Love the poem and I learned a little about wine. I like the contract - green and wedgewood.

It's a pity that some people have never seen translucent grapes. They have missed some of the joys of life. (It's spelt 'metaphor' btw.)
reply by shirley31 on 24-Jun-2011
fantastic but seeing as though i pick them every year i could not see it! being in Chiantiand all! L:O:L just a bit of medecine hope it works???? big hugs Tom Prato!!!!

Btw, it's 'medicine', not 'medecine'. Sorry that you don't seem to have experienced quality grapes or quality wine for that matter.
reply by shirley31 on 24-Jun-2011
classico or not it's all the same in poetry like you have shown in your replies! love you darling poet or not? L:O:L

I am surprised that people can be so mean-spirited. Too shocking for words. The spelling is atrocious! Even a small word like 'reap' is spelt 'reep'. Sad.
reply by shirley31 on 24-Jun-2011
    reep appreciation my dear!
reply by the author on 24-Jun-2011
All your 'L:O:L's sound like spiteful laughter. Anyway, do try to improve your spelling, at least!
It's 'reap' and not 'reep' (as you insist!)
