I like this; kind of in the moment, refreshing and full of renewal
Very nicely selected image to support the poem
Utilising 'love' as a verb to begin is very inviting; almost makes you agree with sentiments about early morning (except for those challenged by rising with enthusiasm)
Your second line borders on the philosophical as you use he image of hope as the purpose of this heralding early light; a herald of mercy for new opportunities to start again
Well conceived, well composed. Best of luck with this.

Traditionally, original Japanese Haiku have a Buddhist influence and reveals our mystical relationship to nature and the universe. Even in the west there should be a sense of mystery and the uncanny. I like your middle line. The other two lines are too predictable. The first line is almost redundant. -Ekim777

The slugabeds don't know what they're missing. Very pleasant little 5-7-5 to accompany stunning photo. I have just one question: why "mercy"? The idea of dawn as a herald is well established in literature and i can understand the concept of hope ion connection with the dawn. I'd love to know why and how in your mind "mercy" becomes involved

Hope + new beginnings + new day, I would say a new opportunity, is merciful wouldn't you? You don't have to be critical, critique can mean encouragement as well! And aren't we all in the same game? Thanks for the review, blessings, Roy.

For the spiritually inclined and even others, early morning hours have a mystic beauty. Even life coaches suggest to try to spend nicely the morning hours so as to be in an optimistic mindframe for the whole day. Your 5-7-5 'Early morning' poem with the stunning picture underscores the above point.

This is a super little 5-7-5 that you have composed here. It id needless to say that the syllable count is hundred percent correct. Well done and good luck in the contest.

I don't know if the dawning of a new day heralds mercy but it can hold promise of a new day and hope that things can be better than the previous.

G'day Anon. This form is well above my capabilities but you can do it well. The picture compliments it beautifully. I've always been an early riser, once the sun is up I'm up, so this little one has a lot of meaning for me. Good luck in the contest, Cheers Fez

-Beautiful photograph that goes well with your poem.
-You follow the directions in the prompt.
-Very nice first line that introduces the poem.
-Line two is very good and the use of "dawning" is a good choice, as the day is dawning, as well as hope.
-Good conclusion.
