Easyrider joke: Biker dreaming of last judgement wakes howling when saint Peter tells Mother Teresa, in front of him, that she coulda done more. Excellent poem if minute.

Hah-ha, she could'a done more, huh? That sounds like something a saint might say.

Yep, it's a minute poem, at least according to the contest rules and guidelines, LIJ Red. Three stanzas, all with an 8,4,4,4 syllable count, and an a,a,b,b rhyming scheme. Pretty simple.

Thanks for the comments and review. As always, I appreciate it. :)

religion is like a gift, gift wrap. ones own enemy is ones own religion. what we fear is not religion. what we fear is the effects of the religion which is fear. your poem consist of rhyming rhymes and it was amusingly, fearing to read. i enjoyed n reading your poem. thanks for the read. Hi, Dean. Boy those nuns seemed to have eyes in the back of their head! I agree that some of them were very scary, especially to the boys. Seems they were most often the target of their abuse. I love the sound graphics!

As always, a real treat, my friend.

The picture alone is enough to scare the bejesus out of anyone. The poem flowed and the words you used complimented one another well. Very well done.

Dean Kuch: I was reading this poem. I begin to hear a little strange music, like from a nursery rhyme. I stopped reading and looked around my room, looked at my cell phone. It took me a couple of minutes to realize it was coming from my computer and your poem. I must be getting really old and forgetful . . . would I expect anything different from YOU?? Lovely poem and I shall never look upon a nun again without a twinge of fear raising the short hairs on the back of my neck. And, my screams are never pleasant. Linda

Ha-ha, you're not the only one who has done that sort of thing, Linda. At least the music didn't cause you to drive down to your local Parrish to request an exorcism, LOL.

Thanks for the great review. :D

You are preaching to the choir - I did 12 years in Catholic school (sounds like I did time!) with Sisters of Mercy - an oxymoron and Dominican nuns. Those days and fears live with me to this day. Love your offering. AT=/

Why? They are good teachers? haha I was not able to have one when I was young. My youngest girl is enrolled in a Catholic school and I had a chance to meet their school administrator. The first one I met was very strict and she seemed to have no emotion. But their new principal is different. She seemed modern and she's down-to-earth. Kids love her so much.

This will do well in the contest. I knew it! God bless you! c", Mae

Thanks, Mae, and I guess it is because the few dealings I had with nuns at a very young age made me a bit fearful of 'em. I know they aren't really bad, but sinister Sister Greene is an entirely different story, LOL.

I doubt it will do well in the contest, Mae. None of my poetry ever does when it is voted on by the faceless Fanstory Committee.

But I have to congratulate you for your rank as poet and author. I'm so happy for you. How are you? Take good care of yourself always. c",

This work has reached the exceptional level

Blindness is horrible, not as bad as deafness if acquired at birth, but I want no dealings with this sister. I've been away, but I'm back. Nice reading your poems again.

Nice job, Dean, with your minute poem. It seems to be correct in structure and the message/music present an eerie tone for Halloween. I'll try not to think of Sister Green tonight when I go to bed. 8-)

It's probably best not to, boxergirl. And whatever you do, if you happen to catch her staring from your bedroom closet or dresser mirror, look away fast, LOL!

Thanks so much for the review, my friend. I appreciate it. :)
