Good poem my friend, with a very true message. How many children don't get clarity when one parent says yes and one says no.

Comment from Julia.
Hi, Brooke. I found this poem intriguing. I do think that there is a lot more gray in this world than many people want to acknowledge--although I have to say my first thought when I read the line about grays popping up was gray hairs! popping up amidst darker hair--the black, of course :). I don't think that's a bad thing though. Gray can be clarity, perhaps even more legitimately than black and white.
The meter and rhyme are excellent as always!

I love the thought of this poem. The trending of age which keeps changing the air configuration with grain hair taking dominance over black and white, but still with so many unraffled posers of life. Hoping that my mind is not going wild with this interpretation though!

Great picture of Sawyer thinking. I think most can relate to this. The first stanza is really awesome. It sets up what's to follow. Mysterious of life, at his age it's a beautiful thing that keeps the mind engaged. Wonderfully gray. Les

Excellent picture of Sawyer to compliment this contemplative poem. Black and white are truly blurred these days into grey. Good rhyme and use of alliteration in this thoughtful piece.
Blessings

I lost clarity long ago, and I can feel more draining daily. For me, that's a good thing..I use to be so SURE..now I question everything, and have learned much...just lovely...Blessings...Judy

Such a fun rhyming poem pointing out how few issues are really black and white. The more we mature, the more this seems to be the case.

That age old dilemma of compromise and half truths. The bending of rules that children struggle with when faced with the wrongs and rights of life. Another great pice of writing that's well recognized. Pete

2 Corinthians 4:6: we are perplexed, but not in despair; :)
Love the pensive look of Sawyer...it isn't easy growing up. He's blessed to have Grammar in his corner. Good one!

Oh my goodness. This took me all the way back to when I was three years old. I was such a serious and contemplative child. I spent hours wandering the yard talking to the flowers, trees, even rocks trying to find answers to all my questions. My sister and friends thought I was nuts, but that never deterred me. The questions kept coming and occasionally a few answers too. People don't give children enough credit for thinking about such things. What a lovely photo of Sawyer in one of his contemplative moment...a real jewel to keep forever.

Valerie, thank you so much, my generous friend :-) Sawyer has a bit of the quirky in him too - his biggest loves in life: vacuum cleaners, elevators and elevator buttons, fans and suitcases. LOL Brooke :-)

this is the first time someone has described me as quirky and I took it as a compliment...lol I loved elevators and had a dynamite collection of buttons too!!! I sill have them.
