This poem has a soft levity about its thoughts. It also has a good commentary on life and the joy of living. This was a well written piece of poetic art to have read and written this response for... John

This is a wonderful spring poem. Once we see the bumble bees and butterflies, then everything must be in full bloom. AND, that means warm weather! It's cold and frosty here this morning. I really like the smooth easy flow of your words. They seem to have a bounce (or "spring") to them. Take care. Bill

Hi Brooke,
Great little poem, yes, the nectar of love and affection is probably the most valuable thing we can acquire - but, like the bumble bee we have to do our part for the other half in return.

But since I'm not a bumble bee,
I'll gather in the sweetness
wherever seeds of joy are sown
in fields of life's completeness.
A wonderful philosophy for life and conclusions to your delightful rhyming quatrains. Great picture and good alliteration with bumble bee.
Blessings

A perfectly formatted, rhythmic quatrain whose rhyming pattern is consistent throughout and maintains a cohesive quality among the stanzas. The poem flows smoothly and the meter is solid exhibiting word choices that accentuate imagery allowing the reader to clearly envision the image of a happy bee gathering sweet pollen from a plethora of flowers. I love the line "awash in waves of succulence" it is rich in word choice and laden with imagery. Well written poem, consisting of an upbeat, positive tone enhanced by a fabulous photo showing nature at its finest! Well done!

I don't believe that Sawyer likes bumble bees. Does he tried to pick them up too? You'll have to tell him the little traights I mentioned about them. If you forgot I'll tell him through you. let me know
cute poem Wishing you were one of them with sweet imagery of your portrayals of their life.
and of course we are not usually what we wish we were.

I think he likes them more from children's books than actually trying to touch them. LOL The other day while his mom and I were conversing, he starting saying bumble bee for no apparent reason. :-) I assume he was thinking about one of his picture book characters. Thanks so much, Lulube :-) Brooke

This is a lovely poem, Brooke, and your descriptive words as to why you want to be a bumble bee, are perfect. In fact, I want to be one now! A lovey poem for Sawyers book. xsx sandra

Hello Brooke,
Lovely 'Wish'!
Simple as well as impressive wording.
Pleasant flow with nice rhyming scheme and lively imagery.
The most striking lines are:
"But since I'm not a bumble bee,
I'll gather in the sweetness
wherever seeds of joy are sown
in fields of life's completeness."

This is a poem sure to please a little boy fond of the bumble bees. It's an uplift to read, Brooke, especially the last verse. Blessings, Janet
