From the lyric The Impossible Dream
"This is my quest tp follow that star no matter how hopeless no matter how far. To be willing to march into Hell for a heavenly cause.
This piece reminded me of that song because of ist power and passion.

While you do capture the feel of World War One quite well and your cadence marches down the page, you really need to pay attention to your verb conjugation. "Thoughts of love was left behind". Was should be were to be in agreement with the plural thoughts. "Judgement to" should also be "judgement on". Make the adjustments and I will adjust my rating accordingly.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

A striking piece as men are exhorted to give up their live in order to revive dead symbols and a dying civilization. It all adds up to a collective insanity. That was the war to end all wars. It was fought without much success. The poem was written with a raw, grass roots style as reality is revealed. Our poet wastes no words.

War is horrific whenever or wherever it occurs. I lost an uncle in the Korean War and a cousin in Vietnam nam. The ravages of war are far reaching.
Good rhythm and good descriptions in this well written poem. Well done.

A very well written but reserved poem about war. There is a lesson here for everyone! Good form and good content! Keep writing this was good!

This is a very well done poem. Your words flow well the message sad, but heartfelt. One thing: in the second to last line I think the word 'was' should be were or are to sound better (just a suggestion of course). Great job.

It was a cold time. Definitely defined of the world war two. Scars we may never get rid off. A silent pain that carries on. Only love remains in our heart before death emerges. Clarity defined in this poem. A unique-rhyming poem.

Hi GW,

No matter the times. War seems to always be around us on one front or the other.

In your words, I could visualize the battle - good imagery.

Cheers & Keep Smilin'.... Jax

I just love your poetry. This one was no exception. Great job and it's easy to tell that you write from the heart. Nice photograph you chose to use with it.
