Great commentary on the moon. Most moon poems are romantic. This gives different view of the subject. Ver thought provoking.

Wow, this is so descriptive, original and interesting with it's haunting aura and well placed vocabulary. Much enjoyed, though I doubt the moon found it complimentary. LOL

I don't understand it, But I did love reading it. I just could see the moon trying come out on a stormy night and just maybe at times doing so. Great job. God Bless you for having the skill able to write this GB

A dark poem to be sure, but a very interesting one. I like how you describe the Moon, and moon-glow. It is not always romantic, on nights when the spirits are abound, it is as you describe it.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest

Thanks very much for your review, Ann. This did, as you say, take a turn on the dark side. A counterbalance against romanticism! I normally leave this kind of thing to Dean! LOL

Thanks, Debbie. Rather a ghoulish poem, I'm afraid, but that's the direction it took! Many thanks for your kind review! Best wishes, Tony

A very well-written Villanelle. It is a complex poem and you make it looks easy. The moon has a soft light to lighten the earth in the dark of night.

I admire anyone that tosses a villanelle out there like it's nothing. I think of them as an advanced poet's form, and even if its not a villanelle, your poetry is classified as advanced to me.
You have superb iambic pentameter. I love your rhymes which fit in satisfyingly and feel like natural choices. You have a more thouhtful theme of pondering about the moon.
I thank you for sharing this delightful villanelle with us!

TF,
I have heard the moon referred to as MANY things. But never have I heard it described as:
Its yellow discharge oozes like a blight,
gangrenous on this pockmarked, rotting cheese.
*smile* Seems to share a bit on how you find romance these days?
Thanks and good luck!

Outstanding atmosphere and use of language, my friend. This is truly wonderful; so much so, that I will explore this format and may attempt one, myself. The picture, text and colors are all spot-on perfect. Magnificent. Have a great day. Bruce.
