Dear Roy, Ecclesiastes 3 is one of my favorite passages in the old Testament. It is so relevant today. Your poem is right on, with relation to life. From conception to the grave. Thank you for sharing. :-) Carolyn

Great poem Bro. Saw one little possible FS edit error I reckon "Qq" I love that passage from Ecclesiastes. Always gets me thinking of my Dad and his bell bottom trousers hehe. They kept coming back didn't they? Got called all sorts of different names but still nothing new under the sin the old bell bottoms reared up again!

I realize a silly remark but everytime I see that passage from Ecclesiastes I think of Dad's Bell Bottoms or Tubes or Pipes or whatever haha. Did you say you are in Tassie?

Not me Geoff, somebody did, a friend has just been there, but not on FS. Bless you bro. Roy.

you have penned this well
your chosen words allow the reader to see and feel life's journey from start to end
it is a spiritual journey as one makes choices
good rhymes through out your verses
great enjambment in your verses to allow free flow
good alliteration in
search, seen
past's, persuasive
have to question the Qq between verse 1 & 2 is this a typo error
cheers Smoothiecool

This is a great poem. It's quick while maintaining creativity and description. Also, good rhymes. Excellent for a card or short poem.

You gave me a good rating. Which means there is something wrong with the poem. What is that wrong? Roy. Otherwise it should be excellent!

A brilliantly penned poem full of hope that some have grasped while others are still searching.
In Ecclesiastes, it was said 'Under the sun, everything is but meaningless.....like catching the wind...a small glass of wine is enough...fear God". Adding this to the author's note, actually opens up a Pandora's Box, but is it?
It simply means that we have to go through the course of life and if we want to be happy we must not expect or ask too much. With the fear of God's wrath, we will come around to be good in the end and not sway into the dark forces when our journey are faced with obstacles and pain.
Everything has a reason and it is not for us to predict about the future or to question God - He has a plan for all of us.
Great write and well expressed.
Cheerio, best, Ritchie. :))

Hi Roy,
You are most welcome.
It is good we have a questioning mind of the things that happen around us. But if we think too much and ask too much and couldn't find the answers, we begin to have doubts and our mind becomes a devil's playground.
Going overboard to find the truth is unwise for our hearts knows better, smiles.
Cheerio, best, Ritchie. :))

Thanks again, Ritchie! I believe we define ourselves by what we choose to believe! Roy

So true, :)). Smiles.

Not sure about destiny. I think luck plays a large roll in things. I know that doesn't sound attractive. Reincarnation is what makes sense to me. Each to his/her own. Wonderful rhyming. Thanks for sharing. Les

I guess belief is what makes up the spice of life and it's that choice that defines us! Thank you for your most kind and generous review! Blessings, Roy.

This poem is just great, friend. You've put out the message of truth in beautiful words. I enjoyed every stanza, but the last says it all. And I was captured by the last line in the first, "and seek where the Spirit craves"! Needless to say that your author notes, where you add scripture, are so very appreciated, and I just love to read them. You always choose the perfect ones to connect to your poem. I enjoyed so very much. . .Sharon

You will always have the choice of a path to follow, whether we find the better path to follow is up to us with Gods help. Nicely composed poem that speaks volumes. Don

This has an interesting spin on what life's about. I believe that even without a traditional religion, there is peace and salvation is possible.
