Keep that chin of yours held high. I only know what I've read about the side-effects of your cancer therapy. You'd think by now medical science would've figured out a better and safer treatment. I do know that medical science has recently discovered a new way of defeating cancer. It was on yahoo news a few days ago, its an injection directly into the cancer that kills it from the inside out. Though it may just be in its experimental stages. I admire your strength and determination. Keep reaching out to God. May he bless you and heal you.

Dear Friend --your brave and heartwarming letter has made me so happy just reading it. Cancer is a sad and terrible disease. I lost my young son all of 21 yrs --to this disease. I know what suffering is the fright of recurrence. But u ar a brave girl and you are sharing your thoughts and giving hope and encouragement to all those who are suffering from this malignancy. You sha ll overcome, with God's blessings. In the meantime keep repeating " a safe cure has been found for cancer at all stages. God bless the people who are working towards this goal." lov.gooloom

I bet this was very helpful for you to write while sharing your experiences. I bet those little babies in the basket aren't so innocent either. I'm so glad you took the time to write this... a lot of great information and questions answered. Thank you and God bless.

Hiya,
I really do feel for you, you think once the cancer is gone and chemo is over we can go yippee, but that is so far from the truth-it's just really beginning to start. You face a lifetime of worry and some of the complications and side effects that will last a lifetime.
I believe the count down to that magical 5years is the worst part once reached your chances of it coming back the odds are well in your favour.
Just a suggestion but make time each day even just 20 minutes, to do something. That will make you laugh every day, watch a funny film, smile at people when you're in the street the response to this one is great, and your health will drastically improve (it only works if you do it as much as possible) your health and well being and it is a great distraction even better it helps with your writing.

I am new here, and wasn't aware of your illness. I am impressed at the way you have written about this, and glad you are in remission. I hope it helps you to write about the struggles you are going through. You do it so well, with a great air of positivity and cheer, which we could all learn from. Thankyou for sharing

Thanks for a well-written update. I had no idea there were so many lasting effects from the treatments. What surprised me most was the limitations on what you can eat now. What is it about spaghetti and pizza sauce, I wonder. Well, you do seem to have things under control, mentally and emotionally too. It's inspiring to see someone rise above all this and still teach and write and live a normal, busy life. I envy your strength and determination, Barbara. :)

My prayers are with you. I have had a friend recover from cancer and go on with a normal life. My sister-in-law was diagnosed ten years ago and the doc's told her she had about six months to live. Well...she is still alive and well.
Yes, your cats are little cuties! Innocent? That's another matter.
Peace,
