Well written free verse with some rhymes which add interest. I could have done with a bit less of the blood and guts, but I have dreams just as bad~Debbie

Hey Boz! What a great photograph of Morrison...I've been a fan forever. I think your poem is perfect for Jim and as a dream about him. I love the strageness of the dream...who was more strange than JM?

Thank you Irish. Charles Manson I think would be someone who would be weirder than Morrison. David Bowie too.

This poem titled "In My Dream" is an absolutely excellent lyrical piece of poetry. It is just sad that you had to bring is the eating part at the end..

Though your technique and structure lack in certain areas a little, this is overall a great piece. The symbolic nature of the ring is what had the most impact on me. A symbol of his self-destruction that wasn't self-induced, perhaps? A symbol of the curse he bore, being objectified and enslaved by the skeevy reptiles masquerading as "fans", destined though to eat him alive at every opportunity? Questions abound, that's for sure...but that is the best kind of writing. Well done.

Wow! Gets a little bizarre. This is a great poem alluding to the Lizard King. I still chuckle that teen girls want to meet Jim Morrison. That's immortality.

Thank you Bachus. Cool name by the way doesn't it have something to do with the god of wine.

What a bizarre dream. The result was a pretty great poem. Seems Jim Morrison wanted to feed you to his lizards. In dreams anything can happen.

Some dream, eh? It is well written and in free verse no less. Great portrayal of Morrison's ring and a scary ending for sure.

I'm a very big fan of Jim Morrison. His lyrics, his poetry and his music. You pay tribute to him in this well written verse...

THE AMERICAN NIGHT

for leather accrues
The miracle of the streets
The scents & songs &
pollens of existence

Shiny blackness
so totally naked she was
Totally un-hung-up

We looked around
lights now on
To see our fellow travelers

Jim Morrison
