Wow!

What a response to the words that inspired you to write this piece!
The summary, given to the visuals by your words were moving. This poem made me think. Contrary to popular belief, thinking is a GOOD thing.

Thanks for another good read, Mike!

Good writing; although I like your commentary better. I could not agree with you more. A cursory reading of the Koran and a biography of Mohommhed would open your eyes to a lot of the thinking in those goofy heads. Pay particular ATTENTION to" the book of women".
Caution: it is very repetitive and written on about a seventh grade reading level, And M.s brother and law and him changed the thing several times. When someone disagreed with him. They would be slaughtered as an infidel in the eyes of Al-Lah.

I haven't read that but am familar with what you say. The old testament can be very punitive as well, but if your read further it become much more moderate. I don't necessarily agree with the religion. I understand the last line, but so could I. Yikes. Thank you very much for your compliments and this review.

I agree with the sentiments of the poem, but not necessarily with all the author's notes. Having seen the results at Shatila and Sabra camps after Ariel Sharon let the Chritian Falangists into to butcher the women and children in 1982 (the PLO men had been exiled to Tripoli) and a myriad of other atrocities by BOTH sides _ Israeli and Palenstinian - I firmly believe that there is NO GOOD FAITH ON EITHER SIDE.

Andwar Sadat and Golda Meir were once the hoipes . Yitzk Rabin was one of my great homes. Even Barat was such a hope. Never trusted the PLO, but there were other people to deal with on the Palestinian side and Israel did not take the opportunity.

As to religion (I am RC), no side can claim any direct express route to God. The difference between a suicide bomb and a crusie missile loaded with cluster bomblets are no material difference to me when I see the mangled bodies of women and children on booth sides.

Secondly the numbers never add up

In 2006, 142 Israelis died, In Lebanon the retaliation number ws more than 1750 at last count (we have no count for the 4,000,000 cluster bomblets still estimated to be live in civilian areas in southern Lebanon.

Who is the terrorist in this case? I am ex- British Military - and we have NO reason to be proud of our record in this area - but when I watch this and the 2,500,000 refugees, I really wonder if we don't need to start the education camps that the Australians are now setting up to teach their people about refugee camps. I think when the first 3,000 Americans see the squalor of a Gaza - and that is worse thatn the Warsaw Ghetto - then we miught get some reasonable , rational people at work.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. For a soldier, collective punishment is a war crime - has been for forty years.

Ever wonder why the USA did not declare war on Iraq or Israel on the Palestinians? Both actions against Iraqi and Palestinians would be war crimes (look up collective punishment in google or wikipedia.

I will agree with you that a different method has to be found, but I know too many moderate Israelis and Palestinians that would not be given a chance by either of their leaders to do so.

All the best

Michael

I believe that Lebonon was a direct military operation against the terrorists who were firing the rockets. The problmen is, terrorists hide among the population. Were as the terrorists directly target the civilians. IN all honesty, I wished the United States had a formal declaration of war, Sadam actually had. He also threatened New York and in my opinion terrorists were making for a relationship.

I have heard a lot of stories about refugee camps from other nations and many of the Muslim terrorists also had control over them. I have also heard so many first hand accounts of the brighter side that is never reported, such as it is actually very safe despite the threat of terrorism and the man in the oil business had only good things to say about the average Muslim. The media doesn't really provided good balance in that respect. I thank you for this review, that I read and enjoyed as the compliments. Only the best, Mike

You sound like a hopeless philosopher and a politician, Mike.
I'm just kidding.
Very good poem. I liked it, although at times I had to read it more than one time to get to the bottom of your thoughts.
Well done,
Ross
