This poem is a beautiful serenade to the onset of Autumn /Winter when 'musty leaves swirl down '- what an effective image of the season, both visual and aural in its appeal- the reader can almost hear the blanket of quietude that is descending

This is a beautiful poem with great imagery and a smooth rhyming pattern. I can almost see the smoky clouds and the snowy owl swooping to grab its prey. The artwork pairs perfectly.

Hello JMF4119,
Nice piece of poetry having lucid as well as PERFECTLY matching the theme phraseology, enchanting flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and TRANSPARENTLY depicting the worth enjoying scene of October Sun / Month.
The last stanza is particularly noteworthy.
Picture enhances beauty of the poem.

Hi Janet. So is this not a revived from Fanstory? It is beautiful. I remember when October was a month to look forward to before all this pandemic business. The skies are gorgeous, aren't they

Love these lines, my friend:
"Dusk settles in as stars shine in the Milky Way.
The rising harvest moon adds brilliance to the sight.
A snowy owl swoops low to grab its evening prey --
reverberating echoes on the edge of night."

Blessings Jan. Bob

This is a very excellent poem about Fall; it opines the season's dark, scary, haunting, colorful qualities.
Bare trees and the barren ground. Yet, one gets hope of a rebirth when Spring arrives with a flair. I'm glad your poem gives us hope of better days, when nature's colors are light and pastel.
Great work.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings, Cindy

This just proves you've been a great poet for many years! What a beautifully written and nicely flowing poem. The descriptive words which tie so nicely with the accompanying artwork just carry the reader along on a brief journey. Very nicely done. No edits or adjustments.

Thank you Linda for your thoughtful and encouraging review. Just knowing you thought it was worthy of a six is a delight for me.

We had a dusting of snow a few days ago but where I'm from in PA - they had the 6-7 inches like you had.

    Blessings and stay well.

You certainly have a way with words. Your sterling poem about October rings all the right bells. So well composed and full of excellent imagery.
Too bad it's not entered in a contest as it feels like a winner.

Hello JMF4119,
This is a lovely October/Autumn poem of that season beauty. I like how you shared the Autumn time is a little slowing of nature as it prepares for the next season, Spring. Nicely written. I am glad you found this poem you wrote in the past to bring for us to enjoy. I enjoyed reading it. I made me appreciate the season of Autumn. Nicely written. Great rhyming scheme and flow of your words.
