Amusing to read counting poem using solid rhyme to enhance the flow of your writing. I always like to read your counting poems as they never sound forced. Very nice!

Kind regards

Sarah

Love the ending. One out of ten to become the next mighty oak tree. Poor little acorns face all sorts of danger but the best thing is to get buried in the promise of new birth, Good job Brooke. :<) Nancy

I always look forward to starting my day reviewing one of your poems, and you never fail to deliver! As always, this is excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. Very well written and entertaining. I honestly don't know how you do it, but I am already looking forward to my next one! :-)

I love this. When I was in school in Arkansas, a group of us was standing beneath a the oak tree in the center of the campus, and a playful squirrel was up in that tree, dropping acorns on the heads of the our group--don't think squirrels don't laugh--one dropped on my head, I said "Ow", and the squirrel actually laughed.

You continue to amaze me...You go quiet for a while and than BAM! Must admit that after the first verse I thought...well you know the dance. Anyway, think you handled this very well. Thought the progression of the count worked very well.
Nicely done, a good read on a rainy day.

Another great counting poem. What a great idea to have the last acorn buries so that it can bring forth a new tree
(and perhaps another counting game). Evi

Hey You! Okay, does it get boring when I say I like it?:-)
My favorite part of this one is the ending...an new tree. I can pciture the squirrel and the nut. Then the squirrel forgtting this one nut..and then one day a squirrel...maybe the great great great great..grandchild taking the first acorn from this wee '1 nut:-) OK, fanciful I may be...

I am up to my....whatevers, in writing a horror story. So far, four stories and no feel of 'pazzazz'...today's effort seems a little better. geez.

Hi Brooke - Good stanzas cleverly thought out. Excellent poem to read to children. Good abcb rhyme throughout - is leafy/breezy a near rhyme - I don't know. Good alliteration 'still suspended' and 'squirrel snatched'. Enjoyable read. Warm regards Dorothy x

Another one of your super counting poems for kids. Lovely rhymes and images for kids to conjure up, and the positive note of the next generation of trees is important, too. Most enjoyable as always. Faye
