I cannot comment on the poetry itself, as I am not expert at the art of poetry. I can just say that this was priceless and all too true. When can children just 'be' This poem will be one I will remember for days.

No need to be an expert - you have just commented with your joyful reaction - that's what it's all about.

Steve, this is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, brilliant. Your command of language, meter and rhyme are faultless and the premise is hysterical! Poor child - what a way to go! (LOL)
Pure entertainment in this story-in-a-poem. :0)

Steve;
I like the story with in a poem very much for the story was written very well and quite unique. Your imagination was truly inventive and also very ingeniously creative throughout.
The writing was meticulously distinct and neither forced nor labored while your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your writing. The rhythm even help with your rhythmic flow.
And, my Lord, your imagery was truly fantastic and demonstratively descriptive as well as abundantly expressive throughout your writing: "On grandma who is 92, Had seen such horrors in the blitz As half her family blown to bits, And now remarked "Please have the grace to detonate some other place."
Thank you so much for sharing and posting and may all your future writings be as good as this one.

Very, very creative I must say. It is an enjoyable read, excellent rhyming scheme that made all the sense in the world, the cadence had a good bounce that allowed the reader to move along and get into a syncopated rhythm.
Well composed... John

Long poems had better flow or the reader will soon get bored.

Hi Steve,
Before I got to the ending, I was feeling like an inferior mother, lol. This was so much fun to read, filled with terrific rhymes that made sense to the story. (Don't you hate when people just toss in the rhymes for rhyme sake.) Okay, kiddo, you brightened up my day and, therefore, have earned a sixer. You're a good humor writer and I hope to see more.
Hugs,
Lou

Lou, thanks so much for the thoughtful review and the six stars.
Yes, it makes me cringe sometimes to see the forced rhymes used.
Suzy takes her place alongside KayCee in my book of Cautionary Tales There will definitely be more...

That is all too funny and totally gross in the end. I have no idea of whether this is of any poetic form but to me it reads just fine because I couldn't stop laughing.
