Funny faces and a iPhone look like a great way to pass the time. I loved the things (like kites getting caught in trees and peas on the plate) that would make a person feel bad. Nice internal rhyme on l3 of the first 3 stanzas, to add a bit of skip to the rhythm.
Nice assonance in face and takes on L3S4.
A very happy poem, Brooke.

This poem although simple in form carries a great truism. laughter is the best medicine that helps us cope with the insanity and ugliness of the world. In fact scientists have studied laughter. It releases chemicals in our body which enhances our well being. Well done, Brooke.

Funny faces, especially on children, are the best way to lighten all those mishaps of life, as you so aptly describe. As always, your poetry is delightful. Your grandson is quite a star! Evi

LOL! I get as much kick out of Miranda as I do from Sawyer. She's just a big kid, isn't she? Cute!
Oh, the litany of things that can go wrong. And all of them done in perfect rhymes and rhythm. But nothing a funny face can't fix. Fun stuff, Brooke!

Adrienne, thank you, and yes, she is having the best time ever being a kid with her kid :-) She was extremely shy as a little girl, but now she is having a hoot :-) Brooke

This suggests mostly late summer ills in a charming, upbeat way. And I love being let in on the everyday life of Sawyer and family. What a great family. Love, Jeanie

Another winner. Your poem reminds me that some of the best comedy is found in the misfortunes of others. I believe they call it slapstick. When I am down I watch Laurel and Hardy or the Three Stooges and I feel much better.

Hello Brooke,
It's a nice piece of Children Poetry having simple wording and good alliteration at some places.
Good flow with lovely rhyming scheme and lively imagery.
Picture complements the theme.
Worth enjoying!

So simple and packed with wisdom, and everyone can make a funny face. Laughter is the best medicine. Once again a fun poem, which is easy to read with a universal appeal.

Loved this one. He is very good at mimicking all the tricks his mom gets up to. I loved the flow of the poem giving all the drawbacks - but hey, pulling a funny face and laughing turns the day around. Well penned. luv jada

Thank you for this. I took my son to his driving test today and we got turned away because the centre said they did not provide cars. He could not do the test in mine coz engine is too big. His dad had gone to work. We had to go home and rebook!!!! We were really fed up. He was snappy and it turned into an argument. I was unkind. I rang up and apologised but we still feel fed up. I will go home and make a funny face! Thanks for that!
