Mike K2, you did indicate that this piece was to be different from your others and you did not disappoint. It is a satirical look at the political state in parts of our world. Maybe it doesn't speak of nature and your conquering of it, but of human nature and our quest to understand it. Regardless, I love a good piece that makes me think.

Wow, Thank you, in a way I it was a bit of a run off but I chose that illustration, because no matter how the terrorist look, that is how I end up seeming them be. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review.

I keep saying in this day and age people should be writing more political poetry and songs. Yet, I haven't yet. And you are. You are inspirational and I'm so glad you are doing this.

As a poem, itmostly works. If all of your language was "Olde English", I could see using the word "thee", but all of your other lines are in "natural language", so it sticks out as not belonging there. Given your facility with words, I'll bet you could find something better if you worked at it.

I have written a few others that may be of significance, [The Longest] Poem For World Peace, EX-Prime Minister and Martyr. I took a look and decided that thee was the best, in a way it provides contrast and in a way rolls of the toung like a snakes hiss. Thank you for ayour review and the compliments.

Mike, nicely written piece or peace..smile..anyway, this was written with an intelligent and thoughtful process..I loved watching your mind work and put together all the pieces into one logical outcome..I am for logic above all things for when we deal with things in a logical manner we can generally arrive at a correct solution...although, the means may not always be what the doctor ordered..it is the only way..much love twomoon..great thoughts

I'm suprised nobody pointed the title out as spag, maybe everyone is getting used to me and my hijinx. lol Thank you so much for your compliments and this review. My mind must look like one of Caractacus Potts inventions. lol Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Over complicated, sputtering, but with a good sound and well intentioned.

It is also how the media has portrayed these events , concerning me the most. Thank you very much for the compliments and this review.

Hi K2

I can't really understand what side you are coming down on; if any. I found the poem, well written, although the meter was a little off. But the contents appeared a little cynical to me.

However, on reading the notes, you seem to be countering your own arguments. I am not sure if you support the Jewish government and put down the Palestinian 'freedom fighters' - as they might see them-selves or if you are supporting the rights of Muslims to live in Jerusalem.

Additionally, I cannot figure out what you mean in your paragraph about the Taliban and the Afghan situation (are the US military still there? LOL)

The Pakistan Government is difficult to blame, since the country is very diverse and almost impossible to control. But one thing is sure, democracy will not bring control in that land, but the idea of promoting a totalitarian state is abhorrant to the West.

Your comments - sorry to say this - seem as confused as the whole ' Rhubic cube' type middle east/asian situation.

An interesting read none-the-less.

Keith

Maybe it appears to be Rubik's cube like because the media has combined too many things. Where I stand is in support of Israel and against the terrorists, but not against Muslims in general, nor their beliefs. Though there are Muslims in Israel proper and the vast minority, they live in relative peace and even serve in the Knesset. Taliban, yes the US goverment is there but the fighting has increased and it is reported of us losing control when I believe that it is the Taliban moving back in from Pakistan because they have been forced out. When we origionally arrived, many of the Taliban didn't fight but fled to Pakistan with the refugies and tried to set up shop there. Thank you very much for your compliments and review.

    Hi Mike
Firstly, thank you for your gracious reply. I was not intending to be rude, but I did worry my review was a bit hard.

I admire your support of the Israelis, and you respect for Muslims and their beliefs.

I appreciate Israel has had its back to the wall in the past, but things surely has turned around now. It seems to me they could have handled the Palestine situation in a better way (yes, I am aware Arafat was a devious old goat). They don't seem to show any great willingness to compromise, and their apparent ill-treatment on the Palestinians has damaged their hard earned reputation in recent years.

I know they have serious internal problems to deal with, but they do seem to shoot themselves in the foot from time to time.

For me - and I stress this is a personal opinion - I feel they should show a little more humanity towards the Palestinians and not lock them in as they do. In the light of the way the Jewish 'nation' was persecuted by the Nazis and even the Russians, I would have thought Israel would be the leading light in fighting for Human Rights. But, at the moment they seem to be violating them. And I think this is sad for Jewish people living outside Israel.

I may be naive here, but I think Israel would gain enormous respect - perhaps even in the Arab world - if they were to be much more active in helping to create, stabilise and support an independant Palestine - both sides stand to gain much from this. After all, as you mentioned in your note the US forgave and supported a 'New Germany in 1945'

Ref the Taliban, I have lost track of what the US are currently doing in Afghanistan. Being a Brit, I get more bombarded with info about the Brit troops there.

The Taliban must be neutralised somehow, they are not wanted by anyone except themselves. The trouble is the effort to do this, many Western nations seem to have lost interest. I shouldn't perhaps say this, but Pakistan is still a very backward country, and very big too. Stabilising this land can only be done by using harsh measures. Noew that Democracy (of sorts) is returning and all the corruption that goes with it, extremists will have a lot of friends there, which is going to make thr Afghan situation even more hard to control.

OK thanks again for you kind reply
    Regards
    Keith

I don't really consider this review to be too harsh and as I do, I welcome opinions and insight. I do understand what you are saying and appreciate that. With Plaestine, I just don't think there will be much peace until they themselves put in a good hand at working on the problems. In this we have forgotten about the West Bank and there aren't that many problems compared to them. My wishes and prayers side with peace. I have enjoyed the discussion.

Wow! I wasn't expecting a review like this one. These things are entering my mind and it doesn't seem that other people are discussing the same. I just want to bring this line of thought to the forefront. I have been frustrated by people's conceptions and just wanted to bring a little realism into their mix. Thank you so much for this review and your compliments.

I liked that you put a lot of thought behind it and maybe you could possibly extend it so you don't have more in your author notes than the poem. Put a lot of what you said in your author notes in the poem...I think it would be far more interesting to read.

I decided not to do that because i just wanted to keep the poem to matters at hand, basically pointout that these terrorist sought talks are not the best idea when you remember the history of such. The author's notes are always opitional and I tried to keep it as short as I could make it and still get certain ideas out. Can you believe that? Thank you for the review and the compliments.
