I really hope you continue with this story because I am intrigued by it already. It's interesting, fast paced and the characters are believable. Tuck seems to be a man with many talents and a few mysteries. Please, do continue with this tale.

Thank you so much, Mary, for your kind words and generous review. I'm actually shocked, and pleasantly surprised, at how many people want me to keep going with this character. I was worried that no one would understand my quirky characters. LOL. I'm glad you liked it and would be willing to spend your time reading more. I appreciate YOU!

A thrilling story. Unfortunately, it will end badly for Tuck if he falls into the corruption offered by Mr. Farnsworth. He should use his detective powers to investigate Farnsworth. No one can legally provide a private investigator's license, or any license, for another, not even in the south. The licensing world is extremely strict. I had to have an FBI background check and be fingerprinted to be a licensed Realtor in the state of Florida. It remains the same today.

A scary concept at how corrupt and connected the man is. Sending you my best today as always and blessings for your writing endeavors,
Sal XOs...

Thank you so much, Sally, for your kind words, comments, and generous review. Yes, you are so right about the difficulties in receiving investigative licenses, real estate, and many others. I have been through many background checks for my numerous licenses. Thankfully, many states recognize reciprocal licensing between others. Florida and Kentucky did for many years, but stopped in the early 2000s, and I'm not sure if they have reinstated their reciprocal agreements or not. Although, it doesn't matter much to me anymore, since I seldom it ever use mine, but I do keep the licenses just the same. Thanks for your kindness and encouragement!

I enjoyed reading this story very much. The character description and unveiling was superbe, and not over-played at all (contrasting with what I often read). I saw Tucker very clearly as the central focus, ad kept wanting to know more about him, and see him in action. Therefore, my vote would go towards this being an introduction to Tucker and his life and adventures.

Sometimes, we get busy with so many other things that, we can't find a few minutes for writing or even having a life. LOL. Enjoy your retirement, Kate!

I am enjoying it, a lot. But writing priority at the moment is my brother's memoir, which is for family only

Hello Ric.

I enjoyed this morsel of adventure. I enjoyed the story and the style. Using your highly descriptive language leaves no room for interpretation. The dialogued is clear with the vernacular salted in. The concept is excellent for a story that could lead anywhere. The tension in the beginning is resolved as the story moved along. The next to last paragraph sets the stage for any adventure or situation.

Your writing is outstanding at showing rather than telling. That is the distinction of good writing. Nice job.

Robert

Thank you so much, Robert, my brother from another mother. I was a little worried about people understanding my down-home character who's like most of the people I've ever known, but surprisingly, they seem to have. I just wish I could read it for them with my accentuated country accent. Thankfully, you pick up on some of those nuances more than most. I enjoy reading your reviews better than my stories. I mean, after all, you and regular readers are the reason I write them. LOL. I can't thank you enough for all your support, comments, and encouragement. I appreciate more than words can describe!

    Hi Ric.

I understand completely. I was born and reared in Appalachia and still live there. I have 4 [F O U R] Waffle Houses within 4 miles of my house. I have a Cook Out Restaurant 2 miles from my house. Most of those are in VA and NC where I am but there are 4-5 in KY.

    You are very welcome.

Tuck isn't someone to play with, very intense character.
This would be a wonderful prologue, in my humble opinion.

Well done. I look forward to reading more of this storyline.

What a pleasant surprise! I wasn't sure you'd be around, but I'm tickled pink to get your extra-special -six star review. As with most everything I write there is more truth in this story than I care to admit. And even quite a big of the conversation is similar to spot on. It's always a great motivator to receive such kind and encouraging reviews. I appreciate YOU!

You have a great talent for writing stories, Ric. You're imagery and metaphors keep our minds in the game. This description, right from the start, captured my attention: "a double order of hash-brown potatoes: scattered, smothered, and covered, heavy on the onions and doused in Frank's Red-Hot sauce." There were many more to follow.

I would like to read more about this Samuel Tucker.

Thank you so much, Judy, for your kind words and the extra-special six-star review. There is nothing that makes me happier than for those I like reading to enjoy my stories. When I came here, I hardly knew a noun from a verb, but thanks to those of you who I've read and learned from, it's all starting to pan out. LOL. I appreciate YOU and your encouragement! Ric

This is exceptional work, Ric. I suspected you knew your way around a story the first day you reviewed me. I appreciated every review you wrote and would love to read a continuance of this story. Tuck and Farnsworth are two interesting subjects. I am up for what ever you decide to do. Thanks for the large type. LOL Nancy:)

Thank you so much, Nancy, for your kind words and extra-special six-star review. Not so long ago, I barely knew the difference between a noun and a verb. Reading others and applying suggestions of a few has helped a lot. LOL. I recognized you had a special touch and fanned you after reading chapter one of your story and I've never been sorry that I went back and read the whole book. I can't thank you enough for your kindness and encouragement! Ric

Type size spot on. Amazing story. Deep South characters right up my alley being from Nashville. Before I forget, congrats on Story of the Month. Now, why don't you submit this for a Seal of Quality?

Thank you so much, Brett Matthew, for your kind words and extra-special six-star review. You and a couple others made me slow down and start paying closer attention to foolish mistakes, then edit and polish to a degree. So, I thank YOU! They say write what you know, so country and my dialect are hard to hide. Thanks for the congrats on the story of the month. I don't care that much about contests, and I don't even know what a Seal of Quality is or how to get one. But I do soak up the praise, kindness, and encouragement from you super talented writers who have motivated me to get better. I appreciate YOU!

A Seal is the highest accomplishment on this site. Published writers decide if a piece is worthy. Cost 9.95 member dollars to apply. There is a guideline that better explains the Seal and only the very best pieces receive them.

It's got to be a prologue for a new book, Ric. That was an amazing start. I loved how he handled himself, and I think I'll take a leaf out of his book, not that anyone would want me, but it's worth knowing. I've never been a person to pander to wealthy people, especially those who were born to it. I know a few ... so up their own BSs. I love the character Tuck, he's great and he managed to bring Danial down a few pegs. Please start the novel now, this will be a good one. Well done!! :))Sandra xxx

Thank you so much, Sandra, for your extra-special six-star review. Like you, I've known many who think rich and famous makes them special, but Tuck and I couldn't give-a-damn less what they think. LOL. I read where Daniel Craig (James Bond) isn't leaving his wealth to his children. I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but it will sure go along way toward enhancing their characters. I'm glad you enjoyed my introduction, and hopefully, I'll find time to build on what I've started. There's nothing that makes me more happy than for special talents like you to read my foolishness. I appreciate YOU, and your kindness and encouragement!
