Poor Nan. She probably had no idea people found her gnomes offensive. I imagine she was quite upset when the disappeared. Did they really? I don't mind a gnome or two, but I don't think I'd be too happy if I had to look at a whole army of them.

Thank you Cindy for your thoughtful review.
I don't think they really disappeared, just moved a little as they are all back.
I agree, a few are fun, an army of them is not. :)))

This is a cute and engaging poem about some gnome figurines on a lawn. The words are well chosen and the rhyme scheme works well, as does the picture which complements the piece.

A very well-written poem about the garden gnomes that seem to be a favorite talking point when they gather on the front lawn.

In my opinion, a perfectly charming write, reminiscent of fairytale time, which I thoroughly enjoy to this day, regardless of my advancing years - delightful in its easy rhyme and presentation. Thank you for sharing such a disarming and cathartic read...

This should be in a contest or a children's book, or both! I love this playful story with a consistent beat that has a surprise ending. Great writing. Your storytelling is fantastic!

This is a very cute poem you have penned to go with the new decorations on the lawn. You used very good descriptive words and very cute imagery. Who knows, it could make people smile to see them! love and blessings, Teri

I guess gromes come and go like everything else. Good picture.. Interesting about people putting things in their lawn. I think they do it to annoy other people.

Some yard tchotchkes can be quite tasteful. I certainly consider mine to be. ; ) If they were only little gnomes and not painted white tires like my son's neighbor lined up at the curb, then there's not a lot to complain about.

Thank you. Maybe I?ll post a picture of my Keebler elf in a hollow tree. Can we copy and paste on this site?

Well, I hope she found them, and that the neighbors realize it is her property and she can decorate it as she pleases. I enjoyed your story in a poem, Jmf. Your lines read smoothly with good rhymes, good imagery, and a message of acceptance (I mean, let the family enjoy their gnomes). They really are cute.) Thanks for sharing. Respectfully with Love and Admiration, Jan

An easy quaint little poem about the gnomes. They have a bit of magic in them and if you listen sometimes you can hear them chuckling to themselves. They tend to move around to different areas all the time!
Watch! :Look! Listen! Glad you took the least offensive route to being heard!
