I'll be sure to avoid visiting you in the winter when you're washing the floors lol! This is really well done. I wish I had a six to give you. This is an excellent contest entry and I believe you'll be a strong contender. I've never seen the play, "Arsenic and Old Lace".

Hah! If you only knew! I love to wash my floors! GAWD! I hope I don't look like that poor woman, though!
What a hoot it was to pen this piece. I couldn't get the first part out of my head, so I just went with it!
You must find time to watch Arsenic and Old Lace = Cary Grant and Boris Karloff. It's a classic!

It took her a long time to finally admit the revenge she had been plotting on the old geezer! :) These acts take time!
It was a "hoot" to write...mainly because I seldom write rhyming verse and this is just plain twisted! But I felt I needed to have a bit of fun...and it has been a very long winter.

Oh, dear! This is quite the scary tale and yet the sinister aspect of it sort of creeps up on the reader without much warning. And then we get the full story of repeated abuse. It also fits the old idea that female murderers are more likely to use poison than violence. Well told in a complete monologue in verse!
