I don't mean to be antagonistic, truly, but why write about this now? Isn't there enough anger in this country?
Look what happened in the little Texas church today - anger unleashed on innocents.
If you're referring to the KKK - these things are not happening now - at least, not to my knowledge.
why do you want to bring that up? I am really curious.
If you're angry, why not write about Isis?
In hopes of an un-angry answer,
pome lover

Because injustice is evr present. Have you been in the South? Beautiful. But prejudice is still there.

I grew up there, in Augusta, Ga. We built a college for the negroes - with housing for students and their families. whites did not have one. I do not see what is wrong with the word, negro. To me, saying blacks is referring to color - which we're not supposed to do.
there is intolerance and hatred aplenty in CA, Chicago, DC, NYC, - directed at our President - to me that is injustice, not to mention lack of respect.

PS I was unaware of the unraveling massacre in Texas. Sad. But this poem is not about that or violence of any unwarranted nature and should not be construed so. Thanks again.

My God, Augusta, The Masters.Jesus, us northerners have no idea how beautiful the South is in spring.

Victor, if not unwarranted, what is raping a little black child? Isn't that what you were referring to?
you are being kind and patient. thank you.

I have been to a Master's practice round via the CDGA. Chicago District Golf Association.
Quite a treat. Long time ago. I'm still waiting on my invitation to join Agusta CC.
    LOL

It used to happen. With no possibility of justice. I'm not indicting everyone in the south. U are right, Chicago has shown severe prejudice. Actually, we all have prejudices, it is the fight to constrain them within ourselves that counts. Let's not argue.

thank you. don't want to argue.
go t the Masters sometimes if you can. it's beautiful and a lot of fun. When I was in college, we all brought home friends - so did the boys - and it was a fun time. I even rode a a float with Arnold Palmer one time, just the two of us.

one time my uncle, who was a member, invited me and my new fiance to lunch there with him, after a round of golf. I was the only female in the room. Very strange feeling. that was before they allowed women to join.

An excellent story. A man must avenge or he is nothing. Sometimes the only way to get justice is to take it into your own hands. The Bible tells of the avenger of blood. He has a God-given right to exact vengeance.

When you light

the cold, cold, soil ...wow amazing this deserves six however I used my last this is sublime kindest regards Meia x

Victor, this is an excellent, raw poem about a man stepping across the threshold of no regret or return. I read your poem as I am learning about another mass killing today--a gunman killing twenty-eight at a Texas church. Your poem puzzles and pieces why such people do such horrible crimes. You speak from your heart and your talent on a troubling development. I love the flow of your free verse and how it told a story about the killer's state of mind and his reasons:

Throws a shotgun
on his shoulder
and loads it
while he can

Thank you for sharing your timely, poignant poem.

A very powerful peice of writing. I found it quite traumatic and perhaps it should have a warning of violence above it. However I thought it was very well written.
