An extremely excellent photo of this colourful snake, and as usual these are often the most poisonous. It is a little poem, a true Haiku. Well done.

A great example of Haiku. Pretty realistic looking rubber snake too. One day I came home from work and saw a Coral snake headed straight toward my two sons in the front yard Drove my car right across the yard and ran over it back and forth several times. Sometimes they roll with the tires and are unharmed.
Coral snakes are usually very small, 6 inches or less. This one was was 38 inches.

If you went wandewring in Mexico you probably wouldn't be allowed back into the US so you would have nowhare to run to. A beautiful animal indeed but one to keep clear of on the whole. Someone needs to tell the one in the picture that it has its ass on upside down. You seem to have justified everything here.

I have an irrational fear of snakes - it's irrational for someone who lives in the UK, where we have only two indigenous snakes, and one of them is harmless. The poisonous one, while its bite isn't pleasurable, neither is it anywhere near lethal. All the same, I can appreciate the beauty of the regal ringneck snake - as long as I'm only looking at a picture.
Your haiku rocks.
All the best,
Jane

Ohhhhhh, I dislike snakes and can't look at that picture.
You have good descriptions here, and a great aha line at the end. I love a good aha line the most, and you certainly deliver here with the best bitey kind.
I can honestly say this post made my heart race.

The Regal Ringneck Snake has a fascinating wardrobe. For starters they are mostly a sharp looking blue-grey color and then they add in a few accessories that makes them quite stunning to look at. There is the previously mentioned bright yellow/orange necklace but these slithering serpents also have a mix of bright red/orange underneath their tail. WOW! A beautiful Haiku to match this stunning description. I had never heard of these snakes so the info was also facinating. Loved. Kindest regards Meia :)

Dean, another great haiku, and as I have already told you, I don't prefer short poem styles. I am driven to read yours because I can count on you to make them the preamble to the explanation. What follows is so educational that I wouldn't want to miss it. Thank you for your efforts

Love it. I wrote a haiku (how about that?) but I want to run it by you before I post it. I'll send it to you in a PM before long.

Okay. I'll be more than happy to take a look at it.
Why don't you join the Haiku Club?
We have an off site chatroom in TeamSpeak3 where we all talk to each other. It's a blast, I think you would enjoy it.
If your computer has a built-in microphone you can talk as well as hear everyone. If not, a headset would be required to allow us to hear you speaking.
Still, you can participate by typing your responses in a chat box as well.
Check with Gypsy Blue Rose or Douglas Paul here at FS for more info. They'll give you everything you need to get you started.
We have a club meeting tonight at 8:00PM, EST.
I'd love to hear ya there!
-
Actually, Gyp already signed me up; I'm a member, I just haven't participated at all yet.
-
Well what are ya waitin' for, Christmas?
-
sent itfor Lord's sakes! *smile*
-
No, not your haiku, I know that.
I'm wondering why have you not gotten in on the club meetings on TeamSpeak3.
Whassa'matter, afraid I'm gonna bite ya, heh-heh-heh?
