Creep me out I actually shivered. Now I have to go out and buy curtains for my French doors. Love your notes as much as the story
Poor Jeannie . Hate to think that was to be my last thought . Not the kind of date I'd get "choked up" about.

Hi Dean, This was a real good one. You write a lot of good ones ,however, this story is at the top. No footprints in the snow eh? With fatal consequences. Scary stuff. Ulla

Thanks for the enthusiastic review and thoughtful comments, Ulla. I'm really glad you liked this one. I gotta admit, I got a bit of the heebie-jeebies myself while writing this story,
Thanks for reading, and for the six stars as well. All are greatly appreciated.

I read this and thought--hmmmmm! has he been in my home? I have a slider off the kitchen open to the backyard. Yikes! I like to watch the wildlife in the woods so there is no curtain. Maybe I'd better rethink that, eh? This is a good scary short story that grabs the reader. Interesting. Excellent descriptions and word choices, "An uneasy feeling began to wash over her--like a malignant, oily fog." Another good one, "choking off her air supply like a piece of half-chewed steak that simply wouldn't go down." Marilyn

Hi Dean, this latest tale is one of the best I think so far. You created very convincing tension - I found myself saying 'press send for goodness sake' - a good story when it makes you react that way. The tension continued throughout - dropping the phone, unable to scream, all helped the story along to a terrifying end. Very good. Warm regards Dorothy x

Hi Dean

Quite a scare you've given me and for once I'm not reading in the middle of the night, though it is dark with no moon. Spooky enough is the setting. Fortunately my curtains are drawn, which Jeannie should have done, then at least she wouldn't have seen what was coming. I love how your mind works in the twist ... "no footprints" - YIKES ... he's INSIDE!!! I would never think of that. Between yours and Debbie's claw hammer, I'm not sure I'll settle well tonight. Thanks. :) Well written with all the build up and intrigue with a super scary climax as all good tiny horror stories should be. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

This relationship looks like a dead-end to me. But as a story, it was a real hum-dinger. Thanks for another wonderfully told chilly little tale Dean.

As always...genius at work, delivering imaginary chills and trembling, shutters and stutters and chests filled with flutters for his mind, never a soothing poem utters as only a chill is served from his will and of course for us it is always a thrill! Great work as always ..... you scary guy you! Loved it!!! Vance

This is yet another gruesome tale from the author. I was shocked when I realised that this was a reflection and the man was behind her. I bell I wasn't as shocked as her though...

A great Tiny horror story, Dean. Scary stuff. She should have gone to work--that's what you get for playing hookey. Great author notes add humor. I've thought of several more situations to horrify... More to come~Debbie

"Jeanie has a bit of reflecting to do' . . . Your comments top off your story, Dean.
Her choking may indicate that 'She needs her inhaler before he impales her.' (How's that for line of a limerick?)
Great story. Something we all fear--a intruder.

-backyard is one word.
