Ah, if only. How I long to see such a thing once more. Not since I left Kansas City in the early eighties. A major cold front in Houston might send temperatures plunging to fifty. Brrr. Ha!

True description of a snow storm. Love "sending flakes of luster twirling" (very picturesque). Also, "pure the pearls the earth is wearing" (good image). The couplets make for a smooth, even flow, and a very enjoyable read. The artwork is a beautiful compliment. Very well done.

Love it as usual... Especially because we are now having that magical wand waved amongst us as I type!! ;) The illustration is adorable and perfect for this piece. Well done. :) <3 Jill P.

A delightful ode to winter. I can't help but note you're all cheerful now . . . but after shoveling snow we'll see how your poetry reads! LOL
Lovely verse, Brooke.

Thank you so much, Green Lake Girl :-) Oh, I'm not cheerful in real life. I detest the winter and the snow and ice. I'm just reminding myself that the dreadful menace is pretty since I'm stuck with it. LOL :-) Brooke

I would love it if you wrote a somewhat hateful poem about winter. :D

Hello Brooke,
I'll bet there's a few folks that would already like to pull that wand from winter's cold grip, lol.
This piece, however, describes the lighter side of winter. Beautiful imagery in the opening couplet...it set a wonderful stage.
Loved the alliterations in the line, "Pure the pearls the world is wearing." Sweet!
Nice meter and rhyme...another solid write.
By the looks of things, you may be in for a wet week...stay warm!
Best wishes, Bill

I liked that you made Winter into a woman. I could pcture a lady who is up in years and still dressed to the nines. My mother came to mind, very elegent and the donned in white a tribute to her white hair. She was always dressed as if she were going to the academy awards. LOL. I take after my dad, colored blind and no style. Great poem. Gretchen

adewpearl,
The flow was very nice. The theme was good. The artwork complemented your poem. Your feelings are expressed well. Your arrangement looks very nice.
There was nothing wrong that I could tell.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,

Do you actually have snow, if so I am jealous. Our weather here is cold, high about 45. That's unusual for TX. I heard next week we will be back in the high 70's. I enjoyed reading your smoothly flowing poem.

Barbara, thank you so much :-) I don't like back and forth weather - seems to be the type that gets most people sick as their bodies are constantly adjusting and then readjusting :-) Brooke

Once again, I so wish I had six stars. I so love alliteration and ( teacher talking lol,) I could make so many lessons on it from this one poem. But, alas I am retired. :) Also a lover of pure rhyme, this poem is filled with it. Together with all of all of the wonderful descriptive action words, this is a complete package. The picture is the icing on a delicious cake! Blessings! Pat :)
