Awesome picture. Planning life to its finest details is not life. Sometimes spontaneity is needed to break the monotony. At that age to be that well organized is not desirable, or at least it shouldn't be. Great message. Thanks for sharing. Les

Hi, Brooke,
This is a really cute poem with excellent rhyme and rhythm.
It has excellent meter and great figurative language and imagery (life pitches us a twist) It seems to express a truism that "guy" plans are always interfered with by "girl" plans.

He sure did Brooke, as should we
all, but don't. A lovely lesson
on life and the way to learn it.
I have yet to put a word on the
look on his face. It certainly
ain't pleasure! Eric

Hi Brooke,
Little Horatio looks like a tough cookie in this photo!
Whenever I hear the name Horatio I think of Nelson. He lost an eye in battle. His orders were to turn back if he saw any French ships. He put the telescope to his blind eye and said, I see no enemy ships, press on! Now he was really tough.

I think I like Horatio's way best Brooke. Your first stanza is perfect for my week. I thought I had a plan and then life pitched a twist. I am in other's peoples hands more than I would like but such is life. I loved the poem. Sawyer's picture is delightful. Still laughing.

Oh, those well laid plans of mice and men. I guess even Horatio has to make way for unexpected guests and impromptu business.
You have characterized him very well as one who is well organized and ready for a "day of bliss." Fun to see who the unexpected guest was and how she greeted him.

Priceless, the look on Sawyer's face says it all. He sure wasn't expecting that. The poem was definitely a joy to ready and tells it like it is. Something unexpected will always pop up.
