Ladybugs look great, but there's a different type that looks the same, and some are red, not orange. In the fall out in the country at my friend's house there was an invasion of them in the house. So, their not always nice. Love the internal rhyming in:
"The spots she chose were lots and lots,
this ladybug of several dots,
for who can choose a single one
when spots aplenty catch the sun?"
A fun read! Les

Yeah, Les, ten or so years ago my church's sanctuary was invaded by thousands of the little bugs, in hordes. I am glad I was not there to see the exterminator do his duty. LOL Thanks so much, my friend :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
It's nice to see a ladybug poem again. Now you've got me wondering if the ladybug's spots are cancerous because you refer to the sun a lot. Don't mind me, I've got cancer on the brain. Just had a ladybug spot removed from my back (non-cancerous) but have another one on my arm to be removed. It looks like Basil (the slow growing type) so I'm putting it off for a month.
Hugs,
Lou

Hi Brooke,
The repeating lines of spots/dots was just charming. That little nugget made the poem. Nice rhythm and rhyme throughout. This was a very enjoyable poem--Ted

I absolutely love this delightful children's poem.
Who wasn't fascinated by the elusive little ladybug as a child?
The Quatern is a lovely choice for this subject and the chosen repeat line is so effective.
The kmage choice is clear, and focused to highlight ...the ladybug of
Several dots.

Your rhythm in this is smoother than silk-based buttermilk - but you already know that. I love the sing-song melody and the jolly, happy tone that help bounce this along. I very much enjoyed the ladybird's (sorry, have to use UK parlance ;-)) adventures.

A great poem about the ladybug with several dots. I like how you have taken us into the world of a tiny creature. Your imagery gives the reader the feeling of being in the grass with the ladybug. Thanks for an enjoyable journey.

That's a pretty neat way to live, ambling through many spots. I enjoyed all the 'ot' rhymes and the great picture of the ladybug. I like the message of enjoying every moment in every spot. Life can be great in all its moments. Well done, Brooke.
