Congratulations on completing! This portion is great, with the dialogue and characterizations being so realistic. Abner is convincing in his failure to accept Anna and believing the worst about her. He also demonstrates that he can change his mind after learning the facts about what happened to her. Anna shows her strength when she stands up to her father, and can deal with it if he doesn't accept her. Also she's strong when she tells Troy she needs a year to heal and get over her past trauma. You brought in the Indian blanket again to great effect. Troy is really a great character for the way he's stood by Anna throughout. judi

"Of course." Anna took the painting and unwrapped it. A tear rolled down her cheek. "Troy, look!" She tilted it so he could see.

Evil Eddie just wiped out my review as I tried to save it I'll try again. I wanted so much to give you six stars for tis final feel-good post, but you know how Tom hoards his stars.
All I can say is that you have paved the way for Anna to have a great future with Troy and this time she will finally have her father's blessing as he realizes how hurtful his overzealous religious behavior had been as he drove his daughter away when she needed his support the most.
Here are some more Iris Hugs for a great novel.

I was reminded, when reading Abner's bit about Commandment Breakers, of an old priest my parents knew. He noticed that a young woman was being shunned by members of his congregation and that she never took communion on a Sunday, so one day, after everyone else - in cluding the self-righteous 'leaders' of the community - had taken the communion, he gathered the Paton and Chalice and marched down the church to where she was sitting, and gave her the bread with the words, "Take it, Lass. It was given for sinners like you and me."
Too many "Christians" are like Abner, hung up on the "rules."
Nice happy ending to the story though, they got there in the end.

Thank you for your kind review. Savannah love is about a young lady who inherits her aunts house in Savannah GA. She is from Massachusetts, a Yankkee.
