Thank you so very much for this thoughtful review. I have finally conceded defeat on my ability to catch up on my review answering, so I hope you will forgive my carbon-copy response. If you have made corrections, I have checked and corrected. Suggestions have also been considered. I just can't catch up and the number is bumping 800! I try, but life keeps getting in the way. :-)

A very wise person said, It's amazing how our parents gain wisdom as I grow older. A very well written warm-hearted story. Good imagery and descriptive scheme. Never give up.

You're welcome Jan. A review should not be cut and paste, but I see no wrong in using C & P on replies. When I go through my reviews, I C & P errors and suggestions. I respond immediately to a straight review. I take my time on the others because If someone has taken time to offer suggestions and point out errors, I should take the time to check it out. When you review my work, I spent extra time on it. I appreciate your effort.

Your words are so strong, the essay is well constructed, your thoughts flow easily, and the humour and truth just jump out. These precious children do grow into aliens,
then morph into real people after the teen years start to end.
Fun to read. Great idea.
Very well done.

Hullo Janilou ....

Perhaps I was just so engrossed in reading what you have written here that I didn't find a single thing to suggest changing.
You certainly made me smile at your description of the
teenaliens in your family and I am sure that most of your readers will understand what lies behind your words.
I really enjoyed reading this and thank you for sharing
it with us.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.

You have to admire the ingenuity of these incredible teenage-alien life forms. Their effortless ability to be as cold as ice one minute and breathing fire the next. . . .

Haha no kidding!
This is a fabulous story. I don't see anything to fix, as usual and find your creative mind ever, so varied!

Loved it, Janni.

I thought the title was quit a catch, good to grab someone's attention. This poem has a lot of humor in it, and it is so true. Children go through so many stages.

Well, I'm just sitting here chuckling my head off. That's exactly how it is, Jan. Girl, you've got it nailed.

Actually, by the time they hit fifteen, at least the ones I've dealt with, and they are legion, lol, they can be appealed to. First, you must make sure you have lots of bargaining chips. Can't take away what they don't have, so a car, a horse, their computer, a motorcycle, whatever they crave... and a printing press in the basement really helps.

Then you can begin to threaten..."if you don't muck out that stall of a bedroom right now, you can't go to the barn." There are oodles of variations.

Parents learn a lot, too. Like picking their battles; differentiating between what they want and what they need. It's a great growing experience for all concerned. Survival is required.

Loved that one,

Hugs,
Gayle

I have three teenaliens. I'm not sure if I'm right but this is all I found:

The trouble is, they can only stay for five to seven years, depending on the species.

realise - realize

Of my three teenaliens all three have gone away. Two have returned and one is still gone. It' just like you said.

Great story.

Hi Jan,
Brilliant, briliant. 'whatever'
I can't remember my trip to the alien planet, but my Mum assured me I went there.
You should save this for your teen-age son for when he can read human things again. Embarrassed or what!
Best Wishes
Keith
