A very well-written poem. Emotion and anger management is something we have to learn from an early age. To keep our cool all the time will make us snap when we least expect it and it usually turns intodisaster.

Thoughts of Richard Pencer and his recent campaign to spread his rhetoric of hate all across our great nation immediately sprang to mind here, Doug.
It brings up the touchy yet pertinent question of freedom of speech and whether or not we should make attempts to regulate it in any way.
Excellent writing...

Hey here my friend. I have been absent for far too long. I loved this. The passion just jumps out to the readers. I might suggest that you center it for more power. I hope to follow you more closely. My health has gone to shit. 8 operations in the past year

It is interesting as the short phrases seem to recreate an angry retort. Moving down
the list of issues I came to 'he lays' and it sounds to me like' he lays down'/ ' with all
who plundered' an the thought completes in the last line. Very good story and words seem to be trying to make a blues ballad.

Thank you. This was difficult for me.
Too much stepping on toes, so to speak.
    Still, people responded well.

A poem of passionate intensity. Your skilled use of enjambment adds to the effect, as does your use of terse, short lines. Very well written. The effect is powerful.

I have to wonder if this has any relevance to the horrible mass shooting at the Texas church this morning??

So tragic. Thank you!

A very powerful piece. Stanza 7 & 8 a turning point, and then the rest is in faith's hand. Raw and honest commentary on injustice. My best to you in your future endeavors.

"Come hither with your shotgun and lay me 'neath the cold cold soil". Love the last verse, it brings the rest of the poem to its knees, in laying down the whole point and destination of your words and meaning. Just great!

Superb piece. Powerful and moving. We can relate to those feelings, even though we never did more than think about something drastic. Love is the strongest force there is.

Hello victortouche
You know how to use powerful words to recreate the anger that begets man to step across a threshold of no return with no regrets. when you said how he found
Upon his hovel's
unlit entrance
lays a daughter
used and thrown.
