Aww, bless her heart! This is a lovely minute poem, Tony, one she will delight in when she is older. The minute style suits this theme perfectly. Well done, and what a lovely photo! :) Sandra. xx

Sorry I've taken so long to get to your review of Making Music last week, Sandra. I've been a bit overwhelmed in this first week of the ratings! Thank you for it anyway. I'm delighted that young Teagan is being exposed to music - such a rewarding part of life! Tony

This is a wonderful contest entry! You meet the required rules of form beautifully with spot on rhyme, syllable / line count and solid meter which most overlook in this particular style. I so enjoy getting to know your family through the pictures and clever poetic tales you share. I hope I am around when she becomes a famous pianist. I wish you all the best in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

A 60 syllable count Minute Poem with its 8-4-4-4 line structure that reminisces the inate potentials of a baby's musical talent.

The work highlights the baby's thumps with bangs and bumps stage and the protagonist's hope of seeing him or her grow into an adept.

The work constitutes a significant commentary that further affirms that a child's excellence in a career is a function of the training it receives from its custodians

Excellent work! Bravo!

Hi
this is a beautiful minuite poem about the little baby thumping away at her baby piano. The photo is so cute. I do hope she will take up music even it is not piano.

Well done
Mary

Thanks, Mary. Her mother plays the violin quite well and so she'll doubtless be exposed to that, too. There is so much pleasure to be had from music.

Well done Tony, an excellent entry in this minute contest, another one obviously with granddaughter Tegan, they are such great gift for my old heart, I spent most of today with my 5yr old granddaughter, and 3 mth old grandson. Beautifully written entry in this minute contest, with lovely granddaughter and adorns in sweet memories, blessings, good luck, Roy

I know the poem is technically correct, but the flow could be improved. I love the subject matter and you could have a budding pianist in the family! I would have liked another verse added, but that's just my preference. I love your work. Love Dolly x

I appreciate your review of my poem, Making Music, Dolly, and your kind words. Yes, this one was a bit jerky, but then so was Teagan's playing! LOL

Such dreams we have for our children and grandchildren! My wife was a classical clarinettist, but alas neither our two boys or our solitary grandchild seem to have inherited that necessary spark!

This is an excellent Minute Poem. I do like to see them featuring the traditional iambic meter, no matter what the rules say. You use enjambment skilfully to assist the flow of your words.

Good luck.

Steve

Thanks for your review of my Minute poem, Steve. Almost a week ago, I see. I'm running well behind with answering reviews at the moment. It'll be interesting to see if young Teagan develops a love for music. Doubtless, if she does, she'll become a happy pauper like her uncle.

This is an incredibly adorable poem. "A baby grand!" I know you are talking about the piano but you must be referring to the cutie who is your granddaughter.
A very endearing poem about her future as a famous pianist. Outstanding, I have not doubt she is a natural.
An excellent contest entry, best of luck to you.

She's almost as good on the kitchen saucepans as she is on the piano! LOL
