I like this poem and I read it with children in mind.

Little animals fascinate them and they like to run and play around them. From working in a library the past, as I read this, I thought
about the animals. Like Squirrel Nutkin was a favorite book that
the children enjoyed reading. You can just sit on a park and watch
them running all around.

congratulations on your wins.

Your poem rhymes well and I am sure others will enjoy reading it.

So light-hearted and amusing the way poet loves her tree. She communes with nature, and it seems, the animals rush to her side. Indeed, she had a very interesting visit with these wild animals and insects. Her rhyme is musical and lively. liberty justice

Wonderful written poem that brings back so many memories of the wee country I origin from. There are so many squirrels the big red bushy variety and I loved to look at them play. Thanks for bringing that back. All best. Ulla

Loved your poem, and it brought back such good memories. When we were kids back on the farm, we loved to climb a tree, and sit there, and watch the birds and squirrels just like you spoke of. A beautiful poem about your memories.

This is a fine piece of poetry dear friend! I like the way you describe the meaning of the tree as something that unfolds over lifetime.
Reminds me of the giving tree by shel Silverstein.
Thank you for sharing!
Good luck!
Blessings!

This looks like the squirrel in the summer that always try to reach the grape jelly feeder that is for the Oriels. We put plastic on the tree but he stretches so far, he can still reach it - lol.

This is a great and fun poem Janet. Good luck in the contest!

A couple of lines lost rhythm a bit, Janet, but no taking away from the superb imagery, so important for the mind of a child who fantasy outnumber ours ten fold.

Written in the first person (I) where the squirrel is personalized, you carry the aura of its action , well.
Tree-me-see...good repeating words for children that so love these kinds of endings.
Bravo.
Good luck in the competition.
Have a great day.
