I haven't seen these posted for a while. I must have missed them. I love the picture of the mountain lion. I both adore them and fear them.

Story defined the west realistically. Don't think I could handle eating rattle snake, though I know those who do.

Well... you were right, I did get confused, Mrs. Wilkey. However, this only means that I'll be reading this from the beginning, to allow for better understanding of what you have going on.

Normally, I would steer clear of Westerns, but this is one story I'll have to go back to the beginning on and read from the start... hopefully. You earned all five stars from me.

You're welcome... and, wow, you wrote 31 parts to this story already? Now I know what I'll be doing with my time for a while... apart from working on my own writing for here.

Good chapter, Barbara.

Soni leaned again (against) a large rock. "He says he (he's) from New York City

"Yeah, but is anybody ever an X-Marine (ex-Marine)?"

You may want to add something more about how the dog takes the reins, etc.:
The horse shook his head. The dog glared into his eyes, showed his teeth, but was silent.

Soni motioned for Jim to (be) quiet as she listened to Alex and then asked,

Hi, Barb,

At least these two are semi getting along. No feathers flew in the making of this chapter------did they?? (*<*)

Nice end hook, leaving Jim out of the loop.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*:*)

I have read the past couple of chapters and you just keep getting better. I really like Soni and her affinity for animals. I'm straight on with Jim, I am not eating rattlesnake. :)

Very Good Job,
Julie

I have been following your work. It has been an enjoyable ride and this chapter is no different. Your characters come alive. You established a good tone for the reader, which I feel that it compels the reader to turn that page. I did, however, miss the touch of a setting in this chapter. The dialogue was excellent.

Again, thank you for sharing you writing talents.

When you say,.. Jim chuckled. "I guess not.".. I thought you were talking to Alex.
That was the only glitch I caught. Nicely written, Barbara. The mountain is cute, but I would not like to be near one!. :>D Miss Sally

The shooting of a rattlesnake, are they aggressive? we have many very poisonous snakes in Australia, but are generally shy, unless you bail one up or tread on one! Interesting Midnite and Butkus being off with one another but both want their own way, sounds like one or two humans I know. And being stalked by a mountain lion, Well done, blessings, Roy.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I can hear Elvis singing in the background. "One night with you." However, I am not sure if he was singing about a gun toting sharp eyed gal who could knock a rabbit's eye out at forty paces. Another good one, Barb.
