Comment from Pyrrho
Now it is time to write a "Six Stars Are For the Exceptional," and work it down to one.
BTW: I believe the photo is of a European Robin which are about the size of an American Wren.

Brooke, This is such a cute poem. I love the rhyme. I do feel sorry for the poor little worms tho. Great pix along with this. I enjoyed this one a lot. Great job. Judy

Brooke, this poem put a big smile on my face. Your writing is exceptional as usual, and this fits for both children and
adults. But in addition, this bird mesmerized me with its kind face and the worms in her mouth.
A sweet kind poem.
I am in Vegas still limited with just my cell as xompute

Yelena, thanks so much :-) So glad you enjoyed the poem about the deaths of all those worms :-) I appreciate your generous rating, also, my friend :-) Brooke

I enjoyed your poem, even though I don't like worms. As long as they stay far away from me they are ok. Your poem has great flow since we know what number is up next. However, you kept me engaged the whole way. Good job and thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, Jannypan. I myself detest the squirmy things LOL That is why I had such fun finding ways to murder them ;-) Brooke

This is a delightful, fun (I guess that's redundant) clever, and a great counting poem for both adults and kids. Love the photo...it is perfect, just like the poem.

Great poem. I liked these lines best:
Four worms were hard of hearing
as they went out to romp --
one never heard those footsteps
until he felt them stomp.
Ingenious rhyme scheme.

WOWWWWWW. Nailed every single piece of it, down to the last letter. The rhythm was so on spot that I caught myself singing it in my head (almost out loud even !) That takes some major talent. Not a single thing I could possibly recommend. This was brilliant.
In fact, I hate worms and almost skipped it just because of that. I, however, married a fisherman - so I have to put up with worms per se. When I saw your title and that it was children's poetry, I said to myself "Take the chance Jill." and glad I did. I enjoyed it very much so. Beyond just well done. BRAVO.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and generous response to this poem, JPilcher. There is no creature that makes my skin crawl more than the worm, which is why, I am sure, I had so much fun killing them off. LOL Brooke :-)

Brooke!! Didn't even realize it was you!! I just read and I'm like......... Brilliant!!! I should've known!!! Lol. I honestly don't pay attention to whom/what I'm reading though. I like to go in whole heartedly and completely blind whenever I can. :) <3 Jill P.

Brooke: this is certainly more delightful than "Ten Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". Bravo for a fresh counting poem for children! I know that Sawyer likes it cause he likes to watch bugs and worms and all those tiny creatures of which we barely pay attention. Good job. Linda

I enjoyed another of your fun, counting poems--you do need to collect these into a book. I admired your rhymed quatrains, bits of alliteration and gentle lessons. Cheers- Joan
