A nice holiday poem that is a big departure from the material you usually present. It flows very well and I like the supporting picture. Thanks for sharing, Brent.

With a deft use of her imagery, our poet draws us into another world, across the threshold of and into the shadow of death. We are mesmerized by the bantering rhythm of the cadence as the bones draw into their lives again. I think our poet invites us to draw our own conclusions. -Ekim777

I'm thoroughly frightened now. Glad I waited until morning to read this. You are an amazing artist, I must say! You can write everything from strongly sentimental and touching poetry to horror, and that's a pretty extensive range. This was gruesome and terrible, but incredibly good writing! I think maybe we are all glad Halloween is over! ;")

An eerie and timely Halloween poem. One full of all the things that go bump in the night. The rhythm was 'metronome' perfect and paced just right.

What a wonderful read.

I loved your post, but found myself chuckling as I read it, because it was so unlike you! I even read this spooky little tale aloud which really made it cool. You really showed off your range int this one. Bill

'The Night When the Skeletons Woke' is an extremely well-written and somewhat hair-raising piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.

Both the ancient Celts and modern Central and South Americans spend a day (or night) to fete their ancestors. How awful for these shades of they are shunned in horror rather than honored. I can hear the patter of running feet in your meter, Brooke. Love it! :) Nancy

This is a wonderful halloween poem. You have painted a very good scary picture with your words. The image is also apt for the poem. It was a pleasure to read it.
