Wonderful imagery. Winter time is my favorite time of the year, and also my favorite time to view nature. I love the picture in my mind when reading this.
Good job.

A well-crafted winter poem;
Snowfall complements many of winter's visions;
Nice visuals;
"winter's gift of pure fluffy snow";
"smoke from chimneys";
"twinkle like a white diamond";
Warm beverages sipped whilst winter decorates the earth finely described in a lovely writing.
I greatly enjoyed your winter sentiments--soon I will not have to read--I will be able to behold them outside of my window.

I absolutely love the last two stanzas. Throughout, I thought this was an almost perfect use of poetic description, alliteration and poetic flow. It reads beautifully both aloud and silently. The picture is perfect with it. You have really captured the "feel" of winter. My only suggestions would be to take out bot "a fews," the word "snowy" in the first stanza, (too much "snow" in one stanza, and the word "out" in the third stanza. I think this would make the poem tighter, and even more effective. Overall, though, this is a gem of a poem that so effectively describes both the look and the feel of winter.

A lovely artwork that complements your free verse very well. Is it winter yet where you are? I found alliteration, a simile and a beautiful free verse. All about what happens in the winter.

robina1978: I am in the State of Florida, USA, a southern state where there is no snow. But, I lived in Michigan, a northern state for 41 years and remember the 'white-outs' quite clearly. During the summer here, it reaches about 95 degrees every day with 80 to 90 percent humidity. It has begun to cool off now and gets to only 80 degrees and with very low humidity. Nights are down into the 50 degree mark, quite cool and refreshing. Thanks for reading. livelylinda

Winter is a monochrome season in its white, gray, black color scheme. You've given it a splash of color with your fire, warm drinks, and offer of a warm cuddle. Very sweet, Linda. :) Nancy

What a wonderfully unexpected ending. This transforms from an elegantly depicted objective view to an offering of romance. I like to watch the snow fall, from somewhere cozy, and I like this.

A thoroughly enjoyable offering. I love the snow - the kind of snow from childhood when there was no issue with getting to work or getting to school. Snow simply seems to grant a welcomed peace when we need it - at least for me. I liked this very much! AT=/

I like the snow. I didn't even mind all the snow we got last year nor the frigid temps. Winter is supposed to be cold, right? Nice use of alliteration throughout and strong sensory appeal. Nice winter themes poem to prepare us for the coming season...

Delightfully white in presentation. Stark and cold but ethereal in Beauty is how your poem made me feel. It reminded me of the beauty of winter, the home comforts we crave.
"As you wrote chimneys, hot cider and cocoa
