You've expounded your tale here in a very well fashioned poetic verve. Your notes are well done and enhance the thoughts in this poetic verse. I enjoyed partaking of them both... John

Nice job here the rhyme and rhythm were well chosen. the piece gave us time to entertain what their lives were like. And that horrid tragedy when river took their lives I will stop by and rean again somewhere down the line I sure hope to see your words somewhere round the bend..

"December, Eighteen Sixty One
there came a rageing flood.
Washing over everything it
took their flesh and blood"
Love the stories of these pioneers that forged their way west. Took unbelievable fortitude to overcome all the many obstacles! Sad story about these truly courageous pioneers! Well researched... hugs, Jack xxxxxx

Thank you Jack. After Jim passed away I worked on our families histories and uncovered many courageous ancestors in my families past. I came from good pioneer stock. But it was depressing. I am so happy I found FS and was able to vent my grief in the form of poetry and make so many good friends such as you. Hugs Nancy
