We'll do just about anything to please those children of ours. The poor cat turned the camper into a morgue for the winter. Children are priceless. I'm with you. I don't think I could have handled eating anything out of that freezer, if I'd know there was a dead cat in there.

This was quaint. Yep father's shouldn't just say things. Little ears hear them. I liked all the reasoning and your internal dialogue and conflict in this essay. The little one was developed well.

Yes...the six year old is grown and about to graduate as a Vet Tech..guess her love of animals remained. Smiles, Carol

My Karen used to call freckles, muckles and a merry-g-round was a ming-a-moke. My husband's father said "Hangaberger" and "hip-po-mo-pot-a-mus" until the day he died. We didn't dare tease him about it either, just had to ignore it.
Wonderful story. Course, that's not a surprise. Haven't seen one of yours that I didn't like. For heaven's sake, just keep writing and keep us fed, pat

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Exquisite logic little Corrie has about freezing the cat next to the meat.
"The camper. Yeah, we could put her in one of those plastic boxes in the closet." [I suggest you somehow let the reader know how cold it would be in the camper from winter to spring. I'm from California. I'm thinking of stinking cat when you open the camper door some spring day! Just a thought.
