Hi, Brooke, I'm always a sucker for a happy ending, so of course, I loved "The Staunch Tin Soldier". I guess even fairies can't resist a guy in a uniform. LOL Thanks for keeping the magic of the season alive and well with your poetry. Mary

Hey, a guy in uniform can look quite spiffy, especially when he shows his sensitive side! LOL Thanks so much, Mary :-)

This made me say "Awwwhhhhh" out loud! What a mood you create here! I loved it and especially for the holidays. I'm still smiling.
YOU have a way with words ma'am.
KEEP writing and I'll have the pleasure of reading.
If I have any critique at all - that 2nd line is a little stumbly for me. I think it's "sometimes" -seems like the meter is a tad askew?

I love this Christmas love story. Very creatively done, you always amaze me. I am also impressed with how easily these rhymes come to you-or at least you make it seem easy :) I tried so hard-took me days to get one down and I was so frustrated. I have a whole new appreciation for ryhming poetry :) Thanks for sharing this sweet, delicious poem, Brooke! Dana

It would take your fairy imagination to come up with such a charming little poem! True love happens again in the most unique places. I had a good smile, as much for your imagination as well as for the well written ottava rima poem. Love, Jean

A beautiful love story for Christmas. Whether it be imaginary or not, it still instills the Christmas feeling of "goodwill to all". Another poem for your Christmas children's collection! Rhythm and rhyme maintained throughout.

.... Saw on the news tonight the heavy snowfalls in US - hope you're surviving OK. We have a cyclone approaching Western Australia & all the rain will come across the country to NSW in a few day Kristene

Thank you, Kristene. Philadelphia had 23 inches, but our suburb had less - about 15 inches - I'm fine as I don't even try to go anywhere in this kind of snow. My apartment is stocked with food. Church was canceled, which rarely happens, so I have nowhere to go. :-) I hope you fare well in a cyclone! Brooke :-)

This is truly a sweet and lovely written poem. I'm back now and I missedsuch poems. Your imagination was on high gear for this poem. It read so loud and clear to me. When I say loud, I mean forthright. It is very sweet. Tony

Dear Brooke,
I have not counted, but it seems you are heading for a set of Xmas poems, one in each genre. Don't forget the limerick LOL
Regards
Reg

For whatever reason I began to think of a stork that dropped presents under the tree. I never really thought of ordaments making out when no one was looking. Good thing I really don't have any on my tree this year or I might be paranoid. Good write.

This is what I would classify as a "cute" poem. I can just picture these ornaments on the tree having this great love affair. LOL. Cute poem. Well done.

Thank you, Norma Jean - I was actually going for the dramatic love story of the century, but I'll take "cute." LOLOLOL Brooke :-)

Imaginative and sweet - Brooke - and a much
happier ending for the soldier than
Hans Anderson's Tin Soldier (he went after a
one legged paper ballerina and got into all kinds of trouble) : )
I enjoyed this Christmas "love story"
