I would pay to see a video of you hooking the washing machine up to the sink every time you used it - not to mention the mishap. :-) I remember your cooking misadventures from an earlier story - so this was like revisiting an old friend. LOL
I am having so much fun laughing at you, not with you. LOLOLOL Sorry, just kidding. You are hysterical. Brooke

Brooke, Thanks, If I didn't want you to laugh, I wouldn't be posting these episodes. At me or with me, i't OK.

Utterly delightful! I've read other things you've written, enjoyed them, so added this to the list. Only a few punctuation problems and spelling that can be easily corrected. Do you plan to put these wonderful anecdotes in a book? It would be a pleasure to read--making the reader smile as well as shed a tear or two. The ups and downs of marriage and life in general. Well done!

Beth, this is good. It seems all newly-weds have several years of trauma before things settle down. It's a wonder that a marriage lasts through it, but I guess lots of them don't. I'm going to retract the "all" and just refer to years ago. I was married in '49 and we were dirt poor, too. I cooked a pot of beans for our first Thanksgiving and cried all through dinner.
I caught a booboo in your first para. You have "and his" twice. The rest is wonderful. Good job. pat

Thank you Pat, I had corrected the booboo while your were reading I guess. I appreciate your comments. We were married in 56 so I wasn't that far behind you. I cried the first Christmas because we couldn't afford a tree but then we picked one up after they threw them out and kept it up till February.

Dear Beth:
Good, good story. I empathize with you on the cooking skills. The first year we were married, I had to feed my first attempt at baking bread to our poor dog! Your spaghetti dish made me laugh.

One correction: In the second sentence you repeated the words: and his

Otherwise, a very enjoyable read. Is any of this autobiographical?
