Hello, Lov'n Peace. Your poem has touched me the way no other I've read has. The strength you found to write this in the face of such enormous loss is very inspiring. I held my brother's hand as he passed away from cancer. The horrendous pain of that makes me wonder how anyone could face losing a child. Faith has to be your salvation. Your sense of spiritual presence is poignant as I felt the same at the point of my brother's death. It is a profound experience. Oh my! What a poignant journey through the love and pain you experienced in losing your daughter, Patti. Reading your heartfelt writing took me back to my mother's battle with cancer. I'm glad you have found comfort in your faith, like I have.

My grandparents had to bury their daughter, my mother. I can see that this would have been similar for them, but not the same as they didn't get the chance to be with her while she died.
A excellent expression of grieve and the last moments...certainly worthy of winning contests.
