What a beautiful, poignant poem with such feeling. I am so sad your dad is unwell and deteriorating, your words show exactly how you are feeling. I liked the different colours of each section and I felt the sadness with you. What a privilege it was to be allowed into your world. I hope writing brings you comfort and peace. Your dad will be in my prayers tonight :)

I found your creative, imaginative, an a wonderful read. Here in the notheast snowfalls are common, but each one unique. Glad you're back, but sorry about your dad. It is so hard watching a hero fall. God be with you.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, jaded831. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. Even though this is my second year in Arkansas, last winter was mild compared to this year's. Regardless, I still see and appreciate its beauty. Thank you again for commenting. God be with you, too. Take care. :D :D

I can completely relate to this. I lost my Dad in 2015, and going through that, as well as clearing out and selling the family home, was incredibly traumatic. I hope you have lots of good support around you. xx

Thank you for reading and commenting. Yes, I live with my best friend of almost 30 years, and her family has adopted me. Their support means the world to me, and my brothers, though they live in different states, stay in contact, too. I can relate to your experience. That was me when Mom passed away in 2012. Never a fun experience--but one I plan to use in a future story--once I psych myself up to write it. Thank you again for reading. Best wishes and take care. :D :D

This is such a beautiful and poignant poem. I feel your pain. The first two stanzas portray such lovely imagery of winter then BANG. Wonderful presentation. Excellent writing. Love Jen.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Wendy. I appreciate your feedback, and I'm thrilled I could convey the emotional depth of yesterday's experience as "snippets of life." I was aiming for this structure, so I'm pleased I succeeded. Thank you again for reading. Best wishes and take care. :D :D

Wonderful when words just spill out of you....
Just be there as much as you can fr your dad.
That is what is important.
It is s difficult losing ones parents. Although for me it has been sometime since they have passed they are in my thoughts often.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Lisaview. I appreciate your feedback. Yes, it is difficult, and even though it's been some time for you, I'm still sorry for your loss. Mom died in 2012, and I'm hoping Dad won't go yet, but I'm also not in control of this outcome. Like you said, I can only be there for him and enjoy however much time we still have together. Thank you again for reading and reviewing. Best wishes and take care. :D :D

If your father has any moments of clarity might i suggest asking him questions and recording him. I wish I ad done that.

This is wonderfully flowing poetry and does justice to your love. Absolutely, as touching, as too, emotionally raw. Great job. I know how it is seeing a love one decline. Take care.

I enjoy reading this sad yet beautiful poem about the sudden appearance of a few unfortunate events like your dad's declining health. Yet you are able to write such a elegant poem to express it.
Excellent.

The series of haikus is very effective at capturing emotions you're going through. It is almost like watching a slideshow, each one being a different slide. I think this progression mirrors life in general. From the innocence of childhood, through to maturity, through end of life disappointments. Very poignant. Thank you for sharing.
