I've never been much on the holidays, since childhood I've always felt there are more sad stories than happy ones. And the happiness on TV and family celebrations tend to make the unfortunate even sadder. So, for that reason I'm a sucker for happy endings like yours. Thanks for sharing.

I believe the word to is missing from the above sentence.
The story reads like a Christmas miracle, and I enjoyed experiencing it. All of your characters are richly drawn, each dealing with the ups and downs of life. I was sad that Ben did not live to see the life you've built. All told, this was an excellent read with few grammatical errors. You fooled me. I thought this was a true story.

I would create more imagery next time with some parts of your story, but the ending was solid. It summarizes the whole point of Christmas and its creed. Good luck

Wow, what an impactful story. It's the kind of story that the reader wishes would happen more often. It had all the emotions of love, sadness, wonder, and fear. Both main characters needed each other to fill a major void in their lives. I enjoyed how the relationship evolved. Nice job.
