Good to "see" you, JLR!
I've missed you!
I so appreciate the sentiments expressed in your eight word poem.
Edit to consider:
1. I would reverse the two lines for "punch!"
2. Nearing deaths (death's) unknown rivers.

Thanks for sharing!
Best Wishes!

' Unprepared ' , is short, succinct and deftly descriptive. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. Good luck with the contest. Please let me know how you get on?

Nicely done for a really short one. This one brings to mind the poem "A Request" that I just recently posted. Take a look and I think you will see what I mean.

Excellent job with this entry, JLR. I like that you were able to make both biblical (in association with the chosen image) and Greek mythological references in this brief work. You have done well to create a poem that lives beyond its small frame. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest!

JLR,
This is how some end their lives, not really knowing if they did it right
If you can get to the end without bemoaning life, no quivers will come Just faith that the rivers will be forded.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

Good end rhyming in your little eight word poem. Written with vivid imagery depth is an unknown for us all. As we age we start to dwell on our mortality much more. Good luck in the competition Franky

This eight-word poem, Unprepared, has the right set up and captures the angst that likely comes to those who now believe what they long did not. Time does run out.

What a vivid picture for black and white, due to its meaning. You have expressed much in 8 little words, as you conjure upf the emotional turmoil of what is before Him, Good luck in the contest:)

I like this. It's hard to say much in eight words but you manage to convey a lot. I like death's unknown rivers because it suggests all of the rivers leading to the underworld, like the River Styx. But the artwork keeps it rooted in Christianity. Very nice. I do like the art selection too.
