I enjoyed this a lot, thank you for posting. When I first read the title it sounded to me like a command, like telling an unwanted visitor to just "go home" already. I did wonder, based on your last sentences, since you talk about making final arrangements and mention that there's nowhere else to go, if "home" now means death in some sense ?

Simina: thank you for reading and commenting. I am 72 years of age and have had 24 years of heart disease, am in CHF and have emphysema. There is no cure for any of these things. I am slowly nearing the end of my life as we all do. Linda

Your story telling of the relationship stages that a human and their home go through was very clever!
Your subtle visual images of the body adapting to each stage " hair goes grey" " "body getting fluffy"- brought a touch of humor that lightened the end of your piece.
"When there is no where else to go- go home ( to your final resting place)
LivelyLinda- this was a very good poem and displayed great maturation of thought.

I love this poem! It is a perfect description of home. I could relate to so much of it. Especially now that we are in our homes so much of the time and we begin to consider the memories it holds.
