Beautiful thoughts here. Enough to tantalize all of our senses. It seems we can get depressed if we listen to todays news every day. These are the worst of times and we need to meditate and think of the best of times. Well done Beth. Nancy:)

I liked the conversational style, and you filled the poem with colorful images of mountains and streams, simple touches of babies, hugs and kisses, those lost moments that make up so much of the brighter side of life that have now been taken from us. We really feel the longing in your voice. You have a very natural persona and it all feels very honest and personal and approachable. estory

What a beautifully written, heartfelt poem. Your great word choice, description paints a vivid picture in the reader's mind. You're so right, it's the simple pleasures that will get us through these trying times. Your last paragraph is so touching, something we all should try to do. Good luck with your contest.

Clever use of sensory imagery--sight--hearing--smell--touch--as well as the metaphorical sense of feeling/heart. Poignant longing, well conveyed. Good luck! Cheers. LIZ

Congrats on your prize--I don't know about you but I'm not surprised!

I enjoyed reading your uplifting contest entry. It's hard to do all that you've suggested, but it's necessary with all the horrible things going on in our country. I'm going to strive to remember your suggestions. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Your free verse offering for the contest it's a recap and trip down on the memory lane that lists all the experiences and feelings that made you who you are todau:"
My eyes long to experience the beauty of the world--
majestic mountains, cascading cataracts,
gentle streams flowing through lush meadows,
sunsets, rainbows, and starlit nights,
ocean waves gently lapping at sandy beaches." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Interesting poem. All brings memories of the days. I tag along. You placed me on a Navajo Reservation in Blue Water Canyon during a harsh wintry trapping season and doing missionary moments.
Nature comes alive in your poem. The touch of spring is 12 month with ever stanza.
Sorry I have only a 5 to give.

Thank you so much for the great review. I glad you liked it. A harsh winter trapping season sounds sort of brutal. I'm not fond of the cold.
Blue Water Canyon sounds nice. Is that in Arkansas?

I couldn't agree with you more, we were so used to these good things it
really is hard to have to do without them. Why didn't we treasure them more? I live in the country and when I went to get the mail it always took
at least 12 hour because we all had to have a talk, how I miss these encounters with my friends, no hugs either. Thanks for this poem it
gives us hope for the future and our days ahead.

I thought this was really well written. One day we will get through this crisis, but I still think that day is still some time off yet. I enjoyed reading your piece, Beth. Good luck in the contest!
