One actually wonders whether protecting the danger of physical sickness and perhaps death is something that is worthwhile, when perhaps the rise of wishing one was dead because that spark has been stolen. They are having problems with marked depression and will to live has been taken, Let's hope wisdom rules in recovery. Well done Terry, a wonderful poem, of course you'd know. My normal occupation is to entertain in nursing homes, of course that's come to a standstill. Love the smooth, well rhymed and deftly written poem is great. Well done, blessings, Roy

Thank you for a wonderful review. I have had the same thoughts about the ones who tell me how they wish God would take them. I just try to reassure and give the best care I can.

Awe, bless their hearts. I use to work in a nursing home when I was younger. They're precious. I remember that even back then that many of the residents didn't get visitors. The ones that did get visitors seemed to only be brief encounters. Thanks for sharing this well written work. Well done!

Excellent poem that conveys the heartbreaking affects of isolation on nursing home residents, especially when they can't understand what's going on. Stay safe and keep writing.

Oh, how heartbreaking that must be to see every day. Those poor people, I can just imagine how sad and hurt they are feeling. They don't understand, and why should they? They're in a nursing home and the one thing they have to look forward to, is their family visits. I would break my heart if my mum had been there. Excellent poem written about this sad and tragic illness. Sandra xx

This poem, COVID-19 Broken Hearts, captures this sad and necessary experience that is causing so much pain for everyone involved. The rhyme scheme keeps the reader aware that you are capturing this phenomena in this art form.

While I don't know much about the situations in current nursing homes, your poem covers everything very well. The sadness you described is heartbreaking. Please stay safe, my friend.

Thank you so much. It is heartbreaking. Most of them have a current mental status that lets them know everything is different, but not enough to understand what is going on and why they cannot see their loved ones. Please keep them in your prayers.

Your poem brings out the sad truth of another level of the current pandemic. The poor souls stuck at nursing homes looking forward to spending their almost over lives with the loved ones. They are running out of time. I Love the phrase " They fear masks covering smile" It really brings out the alienate feeling of their mind.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We try so hard to distract and reassure, but some are no longer capable of understanding. It is heartbreaking.
