Hi Tony, I know what you're saying in this great three line poem. There is a tendency of younger people not taking the elderly quite seriously. All I can say, when I shrug my shoulder, is that they will experience that one day as well. It's not worth my breath. No pun intended in these troubling days. Good luck. Ulla:)))

A virtual sixer for you, Tony. Takes a while to get there, but this is so true. Super theme and illustration. Best of luck in the contest with this amusing short piece. Marilyn

Hi Tony. I like that old sage picture you have put with your poem. The sentiment you have in your poem is excellent. It seems times have reversed themselves. Maybe it's cultures. When I was a young boy anyone over 30 was Mister. In some societies, now, anyone over 65 is annoying.

Good luck in the contest. That's a great three-line poem.

Robert

I am afraid this might be true because the age gap grows and grows. Here in China, grey beards are still honored. . . .

In any case, the pic and poem work together.

What a totally true poem for me. Is everything crazy in Australia as it is here? I was a labor and delivery RN for many years and you would think my Granddaughters would believe what I say but they don't. "It's not like that anymore, Nanna." When did having a baby change? Oh well, thanks for listening to me vent. God bless you and yours. Shirley

Yes! Isn't that the truth. My children still think they are smarter than I am. They hardly listen to me at all but they do admit they should have listened when things go wrong. LOL Well done, Tony. Good luck in the contest. Nancy:)

Tony,

You are singing my song, now, buddy. *smile* hahahahaha What happened to those days when the more (slightly) aged among the group/tribe were revered and honored??? Oh, woe!

We need a return to those days! I enjoyed! Good luck!

Isn't that the truth especially with my know it all kids. I don't know how many times I wanted to throw a fit and say sit down, shut up and listen a second. It's so frustrating sometimes. Love your picture, the look on the gorilla's face is perfect for your poem.

A three line poem

Hello, my friend,

Awesome 5/7/5 poem with a perfect syllable count and grammatically connected lines. I like the message...I find it to be true in my own experience. Well done. I wish you the best in the contest.
