What a beautiful story about this remarkable woman who found her own little Eden. I could see her place from your vivid descriptions. Great imagery! It sounds a lovely place to live.

What a lovely reminiscence! She sounds like a marvellous lady. I'd love to visit that part of the world one day. My father lived in Trinidad for a few years after the war.

Hi Tony, thank you so very much. I will never forget Kay. She was a character. Tobago is a beautiful island, Trinidad a bit rougher. or, at least, it was when I flew there. It's interesting your father lived there for a few years. All best. Ulla:))

I never been to that island, and I think is beautiful just seeing it through your eyes. Kay is a real mother nature protector and she deserves this story. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Ulla,

I adore this story! Henceforth, every lizard (since we don't get too many geckoes around here) will be known as George. This will be a fabulous tradition to pass along to my little ones - and your Kay will live on.

I LOVE it. Thank you!!

We have lots of them here, although I think they've migrated from Indonesia, I'm not sure what country they are native of, there are lots of geckos in Queensland. So perhaps they are tourists, well done Ulla, blessings, Roy

Hahaha, Roy, thank you so much. I think they're just natives to subtropical and tropical climates. We have lot's of them here. Ulla:))

We have LOTS of them here in Portugal as well. I love the look of them. Never thought of naming them George, though. Might do from now on. :)

leave a mark on me never to erased. - to be erased

This is about Kay, a woman I will never forget. - I would stop at 'Kay' because the 'never forgetting' has already been mentioned in several ways.

locals had come to steel any of the eggs - steal

Thanks. did you really mean to give me a four? Well, maybe you did. Ulla
reply by Tessa Kay on 04-Oct-2019
Hi Ulla, I used to give a four when there were things to correct. But I've been away for a while, so I've changed it to a five.

What a lovely offering, Ulla! ;) So well written that I believe any reader would just love to meet Kay! ;) You know, around here, we have loads and loads of anoles and skinks that do George's job... they're great fun and I love to give them names...especially the ones that show up regularly at the same time/place... ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

Hi Ulla. That is a fine story on many counts. Remembering a friend that made an impression that great is always a pleasure. The other part of that is calling all geckos George is a result of the friendship. Now I know their names as well. The most famous gecko in America is the Geico Gecko. He doesn't have a name but he talks. :)) Robert
